Mouthwash. Listerine. 30 minutes. Soak scalp and all hair. Cover with shower cap. Critters will surface and die within a half hour. Don't even need a comb. They surface and die. Guaranteed. Just did it for 10-year-old daughter. Simple. Unsure about eggs. Next phase.

In how many days you need to repeat the process?

We've tried everything available over the counter and they keep coming back. I'm exhausted!!! I am going to try the mouthwash idea this time, but tell me...what is the best way to treat carpets, sofas or anything else that can't go in a super hot washing machine? I really believe this is why we keep getting reinfested because I have been extremely vigilant about treating everyting else. The sprays just don't seem to do it for the furniture and the floors...HELP!!!

Vacuum everything to treat carpet and upholstery items that can't be put in dryer for 30 minutes. You can also put items in bags and keep them tied up for 4 days. Lice can't live for more than 2 days away from human scalp and the nits will die because they like temperature of your head and are harmless if they hatch away from head and will die.

Omg, Mouthwash Worked Great, Poured In On Head Left On For An Hour, Then Washed Out. Put Coconut Oil On Head And Combing Out The Eggs Was Easy...

Tried this on my 10 year old. She came back from her dads with the nasty critters. Anyway I only found two bugs on her. Hope this kills the nits. They seem to be dying. Thanks for the good advice!!! Ill always use this!!,

We just tried the mouthwash. Combed out several big bugs, tons of little ones, and tons of nits. We were amazed at the results. All bugs were dead. We combed them out and wiped them on a white paper towel. Easy to see how many and that they were dead. Probably going to do it a few more times.
