BLEACH many years ago the dr told my mom to let us spend lots of time in the pool that the chlorine would dry it up so we went one better and used straight bleach. its the ONLY cure that provides fast results. and the stinging actually feels good compared to the itch. feel free to scratch away first;it will work that much faster

Just used the bleach home remedy. Soaked a clean washrag in it and scrubbed the poison-ivy affected areas. Awaiting results. By the way, my father owned and operated a private summer camp for boys and one of the persons that worked for him said bleach was good. Hope it works.

Very correct. I've done the same thing from a young age. Cutting a lot of wood and got lots of poison ivy. I always scratched it till it broke open then poured bleach on it. Great results. Back when bleach was stronger.

Had bad results from soaking clean wash rag with pure bleach, then scrubbing until blood appeared and then pouring more pure bleach over it. It did remove the poison ivy, but also took a layer of skin off. Had to go to the doctor and am recovering since applying prescribed salve with silver in it. I treated myself after having poison ivy for at least a week. Perhaps if I had applied pure bleach when I first contract it, the result might have been different.

I was pulling weeds, poison ivy included. I thought that I had heard that if you went in a pool as soon after contact as possible it would help. So into the pool I went, clothes and all. I am so glad that I remembered it. That was 2 days ago. I do have a slight rash but not anywhere near as bad as I should have. I guess that I should have actually stayed in the pool longer as it might have even helped more not to mention it would have been more fun.
