I just wanted to put something out there for everyone. I had a boil which ended up getting very, very large. Literally almost the size of two golf balls combined. It was incredibly painful, and due to it's location I couldn't even sit down. I finally ended up getting tired of it, and tried lancing it myself, which becomes VERY appeasing when you've been dealing with an insane amount of pain for days and days and days. Though, when I tried, it literally hurt too much for me to do so, just the pressure needing to be applied by a very sharp, sterilized needle was killing me. Thankfully, I found something that cleared it up, very, very quickly. It's a product called Time's Prid. It's in a small orange can and I found it at a local pharmacy. I used it three times and it started to go down, and the pain is almost gone entirely. I would HIGHLY suggest this for anyone out there who is having problems such as these.

I mistakenly thought warm compresses and hot baths, and then squeezing the boil would work. Luckily I saw these tips and quit squeezing! I put arm & hammer and peroxide toothpaste on, and a slight layer of triple antibiotic generic neosporin. In one hour, it had started draining, but not all the way. But the pain was so much less and I didn't feel as lightheaded as I was feeling before. I washed it with antifungal wash with tea tree oil (for athlete's foot or ringworm). I put the toothpaste and gel on again and covered it with cotton balls and a couple of bandaids. It has now been a couple of hours since then and the pain is bearable now. I'm leaving it alone until tomorrow, unless the cotton starts filling up, then I'll know it's draining some more. I, too, was walking like I was 'pregos'

Okay, so the next day, it was still hurting. So I did the toothpaste thing again even though I knew it was going to sting. (Vick's doesn't sting, but the toothpaste is what really draws it out). Then I sat for about 30 minutes, the first 10 trying to stand the stinging, but I knew it was for my own good. Then I put a warm washcloth on it for a few minutes and then I was able to gently push the core out. What a relief! Then I put Vick's and neosporin on the 'crater' that was left behind, some gauze and went on my way. Today I used only Vick's in the morning, and neosporin at night. Washing the area thoroughly each time, and changing the gauze. I believe it's on the mend. Thank goodness for the internet and home remedies! This started on Wed night, was getting worse on Friday, could barely walk and was close to tears on Sat, then got online and got down to business! Here it is Tuesday and I'm so glad it's getting better!
