8 oz apple cider vinegar
4 oz warm water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix dry ingredients first then slowly add to wet as the vinegar and baking soda will react slightly. Be careful not to get in pets eyes.

Read the label on the Cider Vinegar--even good brands at the grocery store may be 'cider-flavored' and you want REAL cider vinegar. As an ongoing preventative NATURAL shampoo, try this: mix 1T baking soda in 8 oz water and squirt on, leave 2 minutes, rinse, then follow with 1oz (2T) cider vinegar in 8 oz water and spray all over, comb through, leave 1 minute, rinse. This may not work for the emergency initial flea treatment. You can even use it on yourself in place of store shampoos and conditioners!

I think this is not advisable for cats since cats generally hate vinegar.

Awesome! I love how this home remedy worked on my little Yorkie. I was desperate because she seemed miserable scratching like crazy, and began bruising all over during to those nasty fleas! I left this on for 5minutes, rinsed and then also used dish soap and rinsed again. I combed through her hair and found two immediately dead, one of them actually jumps off her and died when it hit the floor. :) great idea thanks.

Tried this on my little poodle (while waiting for Comfortis delivery)Seemed to work! I only had white vinegar but it also seemed to make her fur whiter!

Will this work on my cat? Can I just spray it on and leave it?

I hunn I've been reading pervious comments and I'm very glad I thought of home made remedies other than buying a new couch and bed. Will this remedy help to kill fleas when bathing ( remedy inside shampoo) and is it okay to put on couches, materess? Need something ASAP to kill fleas on my dogs and beding because I got horribly bit by fleas . Plz e mail me that would be great! Stephycordova.lopez@yahoo.com
