8 oz apple cider vinegar
4 oz warm water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix dry ingredients first then slowly add to wet as the vinegar and baking soda will react slightly. Be careful not to get in pets eyes.

does it have to be apple cider vinegar or can it be white vinegar?

I mixed the above ingredients and added it to my dogs oatmeal shampoo and so far so good..... during the bath I could see the fleas falling off instantly. I did let my dog stand for a few minutes before rinsing it off. It hasn't been long enough to see if it is going to repel against them, but at least it removed them instantly. We will keep our fingers crossed:)

it works better than the crappy flea shampoo but advantix 2 works the best by far for keeping them away and smells better :C

Can't say this worked they way I thought it would from the comments. Yes, I saw some fleas that died but there weren't that many as compared to the ones that were still left on my dog.

I mixed the ingredients and sprayed it straight on my dog. Killed them all - he went from continually scratching to peace. My only concern was that I left it on him. Will this harm my dog?

I tried this with white wine vinegar. I mixed it up and sprayed it onto my dog with the intention to leave it on and see how it worked. He went absolutely crazy, scratching and crying. I think the vinegar might have irritated the patches where he had been scratching already, I know it made any small cuts on my hands sting. I gave him a bath using lots of his normal shampoo and a few fleas came off in the wash. Then I checked for more fleas and there were still heaps on the dog, but they seemed sick and slow, so I managed to pull a lot off, even a few were already dead. Now my puppy is very tired and sleeping, but still scratching occasionally. I don't think it killed them all, but it seems to have slowed things down until I can get the Advantix onto him tomorrow.
