After reading online about a 50/50 vinegar and water soak, I tried it for a while after my shower before going to bed. I didn't seem to be noticing any improvement. Then one day I decided that I didn't like doing it at night because after my shower I wanted to go to bed! So the next day while sitting at my computer I decided that this would be the perfect time to do it, so I put my feet in the vinegar water while I did my computer stuff. Suddenly I noticed that 2 HOURS had gone by and I was still soaking my feet. My feet by that time, of course, were 'pruny', and I had never seen my feet pruny before! I thought, 'Well, that fungus is well-soaked by now!' I skipped the next day (no special reason) but did it again on the third day, again with completely dry nails, for another 2 HOURS. Then I did nothing more. A month later my fungus was better and is now completely gone.

My assessment of the whole thing:
1) The vinegar soak needs to be done on ABSOLUTELY DRY NAILS. Doing the vinegar soak after a shower or bath defeats the purpose because the toenails have already soaked up water and can't absorb the vinegar.
2) The type of vinegar (white, apple cider, etc) is irrelevant. It's the acidity that kills the fungus. All vinegar has the same pH level or else it isn't vinegar.
3) It may not take 2 hours when the toenails are dry. It may only take 15 minutes ! It may not take two applications, it may only take one; however, this is how I did it, and it worked, on me and two others who followed these instructions exactly. One person complained of pain before the time was up; I suggested she endure the discomfort for the entire two hours. Her case was severe and longstanding, but did respond.

You're welcome ! ! !
