Being a sister of a child who has clogged ears, I know what a struggle it can be to find the best cleaning remedy. But luckaly my uncle brought ear wax candles one day to solve the problem. They are about $3.00 a piece and around a ft. long. You take one a put a paper plate at the end and stick the pointed part in the ear hole and light the other end. It will take about 20 minutes to burn completely down. The heat will draw all of the wax out and you can see the resalts in the burned candle. It works incredibly good and cause NO pain at all and that is a coming from a 4 year old.The candles are sold in most walmarts or fred meyers.

And they are also completely fake. Do some research and you'll see. The 'wax' you see compacted at the end is simply from the candle itself. If they did work, the 'suction' would pop your ear drum.

Yea okay, this is for the person above me...You probably have never even tried them and it ain't 'suction', I don't even know where you got that from. The candles work like a chimney and I don't care if you use them or not, just go ahead and let your ears get filled with wax and go deaf, cause it sure doesn't bother me none!

Just do this one experiment next time you get the candles....use one in your ear and burn one without it being in anyone's ear. Then see what they look like. When I did this, the candles were identical looking.

I tried them several times with no results. My gf and most everyone at her school (holistic medicine) swore by them too. So I spent A LOT of time researching them and found a lot of solid evidence saying they DON'T work and a lot of people swearing by them, but with no real evidence.

Ear wax will dissolve with warm baby oil. I would not try any other kind because you may not know what is in it. I used an eye dropper. It was about the same size as the dropper that comes in a bottle of nose drops. I filled it a little more than half way and put the oil in my ear as I was lying on my side. I used a tissue to catch any over flow. There was no over flow. I let it sit in my ear for about 3 to 5 minutes. I held the tissue over my ear and as I sit up the oil drained with no problem. It was slightly discolored. I immediately did the same thing using peroxide. I did not heat the peroxide. I repeated the same thing for my other ear and I had the same results. If this does not work, the next step would be to see a Nurse practitioneror or a family doctor. Or if you go to church, talk to one of the grandmothers. That is where I got my 'Home Remedy'. Good luck and God bless you. PS Don't let it get worse. If your ear gets infected you could have permanent hearing loss.

These ear candles work like this (in theory): When the candle is heated the hot air creates a vaccum (or 'suction')which in turn pulls the ear wax out of your ear. There are limited studies that show that at no moment was a vaccum created or that wax was removed. Many doctors recommend you use other methods, because candling can be quite harmful. Just thought I would share.

For the person who got so offended just because someone stayed facts. Even if you didn't say suction, how else do you suppose it 'sucks' the wax out. The wax is not from your ears it's from the candle itself burn it while its not in your ear before you start raving about how someone should go deaf.. I'm sure earwax candles will not have any effect on saving someone from deafness anyway. Wishing bad things on someone just because they simply disagree is never a good thing

They simply don't work- do your research

They're also very dangerous. Doctors have recommended many of these remedies but this one because of the dangers. They also say its fake.
