44 and Free of AF

I agree with many of the remedies for Athlete's Foot, especially Apple Cider Vinegar and Tea Tree Oil. No question they will work, as do some of the OTC remedies. The real trick is keeping it gone...forever. Here is my story and I am sticking to it:I am a fairly active 44 year old male. I have suffered with stinky shoes and AF since I was 9 years old and this method I figured out really worked for me. I am so thrilled you have no idea! About 4 months ago, I had a very bad case of AF and decided to do some online research into the causes of AF. As it turns out, I have what is called hyperhydrosis, or excessive sweating of the feet and have since I was a child. Because of this, all shoes I wore smelled badly, socks were sticking to my feet from the sores and skin was badly the point where it hurt to walk. My solution, Gold Bond Powder for feet for 10 days on both my feet and in my socks 'AFTER' applying Maxim Anti-perspirant roll on first(right out of the shower.) Yes, for real! In 2 weeks, all signs of AF gone. 1 month, most dead skin gone. After 2 months... Let's put it this way. No shoes I wear smell like anything but leather or sneakers. My feet are so soft, healthly looking and clear, that they remind me of how they were when I was a child. In fact, my 8 year old daughter said my 'new' feet look almost like hers. I have had NO, ZERO, ZIP recurrance of AF after 4 months. Yes, Maxim is not cheap, but you can get it on Amazon.

My proceedure is to shower and wash my feet, roll on the maxim afterwards and let them dry... That is it. Doesn't matter if I am wearing work shoes, dress shoes, tennis shoes or flip flops, no socks, with socks, etc. BTW, Yes, I use to have to throw away flip-flops because my feet made them smell so bad. My wife and daughter are litterally stunned with this transformation. No stinking of anything. And, in closing, it makes absolute sense. The sweat and heat make a perfect environment for AF. By rubbing the Maxim into my feet and between the toes, the Aluminum Chloride severely hampers the sweat from those regions. Please understand I don't do the whole foot, only areas that were prone to AF (Not whole foot). Also, once your feet clear up, you don't have to apply Maxim every day. Every third day seems to work just fine for me now. It is awesome to finally be rid of this health issue and huge embarrasment and yes, it was hugely embarrasing to me to have to take off my shoes in public and smell them from 10 feet away. I love my new feet! Try it and see if it works for you, too, and best of luck.

BeachBum in Kuwait

I think I am in the same boat as you and I am going to try it as soon as I can get some Maxim here in Kuwait. I have had the same problem since I was young and recently went home for vacation and came back with a horrible outbreak on my foot. It hurts like hell and sucks I have to be on my feet all day. Thank you so much for the advice !

My daughter is suffering pretty severely right now and I'm going to give her your advise. This will surely make her happy. Thanks a bunch.

Don't be so enthusiastic. For one, antiperspirants main active ingredient is aluminum which targets your sweat glands and clogs them up, prohibiting sweat production which is a natural bodily function. Think about all the toxins and bacteria that is excreted out of your feet and specifically from your sweat. If you prohibit that action then you're just keeping all of that stuff in your body. Furthermore, human contact with aluminum has been speculated as a cause of Alzheimer's, especially if you're genetically predisposed to it. I wouldn't recommend clinical antiperspirant for any 'hyperhydrosis' problem.

So far as a really good drying agent to use inside shoes or anywhere else, the best thing I know of is bentonite clay in powder form, which is sold in many health food stores. It not only deodorizes and dries- it has many other beneficial qualities and applications.

We are going to give it a try my husband has also had his problem all his life. I will keep you posted on if it works. Thank you for posting this. At least we have options. The doctors don't seem to have anything that has helped so far.

Intriguing. I'm wondering if anyone's tried this approach and substituted the Crystal Stick for Maxim? Crystal Stick type deodorants are the ones that look like rock salt and are supposed to kill/neutralize the bacteria in sweat while still letting you sweat to lower your body temp and flush toxins.
