Drink a can of carbonated beverage. Works for some people

Carbonated beverages actually can CAUSE heartburn, and worsen acid reflux for those who suffer from that. Do NOT drink carbonated beverages if you have heartburn!

drinking carbonated bevrages will cause your heartburn or acid reflux to worsten. the tiny gas bubbles expand you stomach lining and open the sphinxter at the base of your esophogus allowing the acid to travers upwards. this causes even more sever pain

I agree. And of course the more caffiene it has (e.g. coke, pepsi), the worse it gets. I recall taking a lunch break and chugging down a cola. Back to work bending and stretching, and the heartburn hits a home run. OUCH!!

I think you're mixing it up with gas. Soda's good for getting gas off your stomach. I can be all gassy and take a couple swigs of Pepsi and burp my head off, but if I drink it when I have heartburn it makes it worse.

That is one of the worst things you can do!! As a Mountain Dew addict, I can tell you that my heartburn goes from bad to horrendous after drinking even a few swallows of soda. My husband swears by baking soda & water!

It helps me actually. After I burp a few times it's usually gone. But make sure it's a CLEAR soda. I'm allergic to most remedies for heartburn.... Especially apples which sucks. Ramen also works. Chicken ramen. But really there's nothing I can do...
