Hey so I'm 19 and I have been suffering from a terrible reoccurring yeast infection for over a year and it takes over my life when it comes back. I have read almost everything everyone has posted on this website and I've tried almost all of it. Tea Tree Oil cured my first one with little effort at all but as time has gone on each one has been harder to kill than the last. On my latest one that started this past saturday with just a small tickle (today is wednesday) and now is full blown (red ichty inflammation, huge amounts of discharge) and now I'm trying apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil, coconut oil, garlic (which I've had up there since sunday changing it every 6-8 hours), and it still isn't working 4 days later. Everyone here has been so helpful! I am going to keep going on the track. I also have added something new to my yeast infection defense. I make this 'soup' with hot water, apple cider vinegar, and salt. Right before I shower I dip a rag in then hold it against the irritated area. I hold it there basically until I can't stand it anymore. It hurts more than anything I could ever describe. My next move will be to try hydrogen peroxide. I've read a lot about it and it hopefully will work. I'm scared to douche down there so I'm going to try to find another way to have it help! Thank you again everyone who have posted their stories they all help someone like me who's trying to fend for themselves against our common enemy.

If it's recurring, it sounds more like an STD to me. Chlamyddia acts the same way as a YI . I also agree that you should see your gynecologist and get tested.

You could have total body yeast infection. Flagyl would be prescribed. It is also called Metronitozal. 1500 mg a day for 10 days. Alternatively grapefruit seed extract in gel caps. Try to get a prescription somehow

It is important, more than anything else, to go to your doctor to be checked out. The correct diagnoses could save your life. Recurring yeast and/or urinary tract infections are often a sign of diabetes. Usually if you treat the underlying problems, they will take care of the rest. I have suffered from an occasional yeast infection and have found that a soothing solution of 16 ounces room temp. water mixed with 1/2 c. salt, 1/2 c. vinegar, and 1/2 c. black tea (cooled and unsweetened)...pour directly on affected area... Man, did this take care of business. I had a raging itching one this last time; and this solution soothed the savage beast beautifully!

I'm no doctor but if it been a year and you are constantly getting these infections with it being hard to get rid of it might be smart to visit a doctor becuase there may be an underlying problem. A lot of people also get yeast infections mixed up with bacterial vaginits. It has very similar symtoms with one very distint difference. bacterial infections often need antibioticals to cure the issue and often you;ll notice a very distinct odor coming from the vagina. Not saying you have that but re-occuring infections NEED to be checked out to make sure nothing serious is going on with your body. I've dealt with both in the past and felt so much better after I saw my Gynocologist and understood what was happening. Your lady parts will thank you for it =) regular pap smears are essential especially for women turning 18 or who are sexually active. take care! hope this helped!!
