Vitamin B-12 has been the remedy that works best for me. I didn't like Mirapex because it upset my stomach and I kept having to increase the dosage. Tonic water worked for a while but seemed to lose its effectiveness.

I take two 2,000 mg B-12 tablets when I'm ready to go to sleep, and so far this has worked wonderfully. I've taken it for 3 or 4 weeks and haven't had RLS at all during this time. If you need to take more it's okay because B-12 is a water soluble vitamin and anything your body doesn't use washes out in your urine.

Huh. I have to take my B's in the morning because they make me a little more energetic. Maybe I could up my dose in the morning and still get the anti-RLS effects at night...


I am praying that this works. My rls effects me during the day, especially in the evenings. I've had it for about 10yrs, and as everyone has said the older you get the worse it gets. Mine use to just be occasional, now it is every day. One thing that is very strange to me is that all the post that I have read, they're rls effected their sleep. Mine doesn't. Most evenings by 6 or 7 p.m. I have to lay in the bed to get any relief, and it's flat in my back with my legs stretched out. This puts pressure on my back, but relieves my legs. Also another thing I've noticed is that not many people have mentioned anything in the thigh erea. My feet, thighs and hips are affected. If crying would help, I would cry all day, just to be comfortable for a little while. I don't have any words of advice, but when I do I will be back to share. Thanks for all of the advice.
