To draw out an infection...Take a bar of Fels Naptha and grate it...add an equal amount of sugar...add water to form a paste. Apply on infected area and cover with bandage. May father used to use this on us as kids...I'm now 57 and I have used it all my life.

what is this bar of whatever and where do i find it???

Ej

Fels-naptha is laundry soap in bar form, found in grocery stores here in the U.S. My family has always used it as hand/bath soap after any exposure to poison ivy/oak or whatever, with good results.

Fels Naptha...I am in Indonesia...what can I use that is similar. Really need to know chemical content of Fels Naptha.

Maybe someone can post it as they read the back of the bar.

Doesn't sugar feed the infection?

I found Fels Naptha at Alberstons. Does the sugar + Fels Naptha work with extracting a glass shard from my heel?
I guess it is woth a try.

I can remember my dad making my two older brothers & I all get in a freezing cold river & scrub our naked bodies down from head to toe with that same soap so we would'nt come home from our fishing trip with poison oke rash . I must have tromped through a mile or more of poison oke & I never once went home with a rash thanks to that soap . Felt like sand paper on the skin as if it had rocks in it . TO REMOVE A GLASS SHARD from the heel , try crazy glue on the tip of of a tooth pick & poke that end into the hole made by the glass shard till you feel the the glass . Then just hold still for a bit
or till glue grabs hold of the glass shard . Next gentaly pull the toothpick out with glass stuck on the end of it . You will just have to man up and do it as it hurts like hell till its out . If that dos'nt get it , a new razor blade will help open up the wound and get the glass wet wh fresh blood . It should just pop out at that point . Im a glazier and have to do this all the time . Its just part of the job to me but if its to big or to deep for you to get out on your own , then don't keep messing with it and go see a Doctor .

Fels Naptha no longer contains Naptha. That might have been the ingredient your dad used back in the day. Today it is no different than bar soap.
