I have suffered with severe muscle cramps for several years. To rid myself of this problem I used coconut oil and cayenne pepper salve. *At the lowest heat possible warm the coconut oil and mix in enough cayenne pepper to a salve (you do not want to make it too thick...or it will not spread easily.) Massage into painful area slowly..taking time to really get it in the muscles. I use this twice a week now, to make sure the cramps do not come back.

There are approximately 27 varieties of capsicum, which is also known as cayenne pepper.
Chilli contains a constituent called capsaicin, which is responsible for most of its actions. Chilli is very rich in carotenoids which are known to have antioxidant effects. It is also beneficial for (in this case) the circulation. Also creams containing capsaicin may help to lessen the pain associated with arthritis and other aches and pains.
So using the aforementioned salve the circulation improves and the pain gets at least numbed, which can ease the cramp and the resulting pain or make it completely diappear, if the cramp has circulatory causes alone.
