Best remedy for Lice is simple: apply a thick coating of mayonnaisse to your child's hair. Be sure to massage it down to the roots and the scalp, paying particular attention to the nape of the neck and the areas just above the ears. Carefully wrap a plastic grocery bag or plastic wrap around the hair (DO NOT LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED, PLASTIC BAGS CAN CAUSE SUFFOCATION) and wait one hour. **Rinse hair in very warm/hot water, using a comb to help slide mayo off of hair. The lice will have risen to the surface of the hair and will be easy to remove, and the nits will slide right out. Wash hair with DAWN Dishwashing liquid to get residual oils out. Then follow with shampoo and conditioner, preferably a Coconut-scented brand and/or one that contains Tea Tree Oil (lice HATE both of these). Repeat again in 10 days. Great alternative to harsh chemical shampoos, and EFFECTIVE!

I have tried the Listerine and vinegar treatment. It worked wonders for my older two children. My youngest somehow is getting re-infested over and over. We have tried the Listerine and vinegar on her and it seemed to work. Then they were back. We did the over the counter non-toxic treatment Lice Free stuff. It seemed to work. All along we are washing all clothing and all bedding thoroughly, on a reg basis. I am confused and lost at what to do next. Myself and husband have not gotten them nor have my other 2 children. It just seems she keeps getting them. It has been 3 weeks since we treated her the last time and there back. I have used the coconut shampoo and conditioner on her regularly as well. I am at my wits end. I am trying the mayonnaise treatment. I have nothing to lose at this point. I smothered mayo all over her head down to the roots and she's off to bed with a shower cap on and we will see what the morning comb out reveals. I figure it's cheap and worth a try. I have heard sooo many different things to try. At this point I'm open to any non-toxic suggestion. This is a battle I'm ready to be over.

The mayo really does work, I used tea tree oil first, overnight with a shower cap and it burnt my ears.

I’m confused - We’re black his school is predominantly white, but I have never experienced this before- so pardon my ignorance... I slapped sulfur 8 on my head and hadn’t felt a thing in a while - I’m killing you sob’s
