Abscessed Tooth Home Remedy Comments

First off, I love this page. It's helped me out a few times. Now I want to share what really works for me.

I had an eating disorder in my teens. Now 25 years old, I have beaten bulimia, but have almost destroyed my teeth as a result. So, needless to say, I have quite a few nerves exposed. A few months ago, I had a horrible abscess. I hadn't slept in 4 days. I had been to the ER, but my bf didn't get paid until the next day and I wouldn't get paid until the day after, so I couldn't get my prescription filled yet. While desperately searching the web, on results page 7 or 8, I found a post with a recipe so simple, I didn't think it would work. But I saw so many people post that it had that I tried it, and it did! I recently added another ingredient.

In a small cup, mix 1 teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of baking soda (Make sure it's baking SODA, not baking POWDER) and (my added ingredient), one teaspoon of ground cloves. Dip a cotton ball in a little warm water, then dip it in the mixture. Place the cotton ball in your mouth against the tooth that's hurting and hold it there for a bit. It may take a few applications, and it's one of the most horrible things I've ever tasted, but it works. Also, take an Ibuprofin, Tylenol, or asprin(if you're not allergic. Some can't take asprin.).

Of course, the best course of action is going to the dentist (I've already been a few times), but this will help in the meantime.
