If your toenail gets really thick and yellow, it is a form of fungus.
Take a nail file and run it over the surface of the toenail. Rub it both horizontally and laterally to make uneven grooves in the top of the nail.
Then rub Vick's Vapor Rub into the top of the toenail. The grooves will help keep the Vick's on the toenail. Do this for several days/nights in a row as often as you can.
The Eucalyptus in the Vick's will kill the fungus on the nail faster than any store-bought anti-fungal available !

Hello refund I am in constant pain with my big toenails and that get worse and worse,.... Jave had problems with ingrown toenails for as long as I can remember but the thick brittle toenails have been getting progressively worse over the years so now I am willing to try anything.... Heres what is going on with my right big toe, over the years it would get worse all the time and my wife tries to keep them trimmed but it is so thick, its almost a quarter inch thick and curls under at the edges so bad it grows into the main and even the skightest touch sends pain through my wold foot and to try and cut it the nail is so weak and brittle it Comes off in big chunks when i try to cut it away so I an going to try these remedies and cross my fingers and I will post the results that I hope will be a good post in the end

Tea tree oil worked for me, but I did not like the smell.

I have used Original Listerine Mouth Wash with excellent result. I apply it
with an Eye Dropper every morning after the shower.

My nails used to be discolored fractured and pitted. Now, my nails are
perfect and my wife is jealous. No need for me to feel embarrassed at the swimming pool.

My fungus is long gone, but I still apply the mouthwash with an eyedropper
every morning. I don't want the fungus back!

Be patient, after about 3 months you will see the deformed nail slowly being replaced with a beautiful nail.

Another plus, my shoes don't smell anymore!

So after seeing all your posts about using Vicks Vapor Rub I decided I would try it. I have nothing to lose. Hopefully this works. My toes seems to turn rough and thick sometimes crumbling. I've removed pieces of my nail various times and it grows the back the same. I've tried covering it with nail polish, but it looks so ugly. Being a teenager is So Cal in the beginning of summer with these embarrassing toe nails is no good :( I'm starting tonight and will post back in a couple of weeks.

Please don't waste money on anti fungal medicines. Listerine in a morning and vicks at night will take effect after about a week. Try it! I had fungus for 15 years really bad in 1 big toe and my thumb. After jst over a month its almost gone. Hope this helps others like it has helped me!

I've had a bad toenail for a year or so now and it's been driving me mad. I thought there had to be a more money efficient and pain free way of dealing with it, so I searched home remedies....and who'd of thought it!! Vicks vapour rub!! I did exactly what everyone suggested last night and by this morning my nail looked different......just amazing. I'll continue until it clears... Thank heavens for Vicks !!!

I, too, tried the Vicks treatment, but then heard that it's not great because it is petroleum based, and that there is one ingredient in Vicks that helps. I looked it up and it's THYMOL. Both my husband and I have been using Amoresse Thymol for some time. I cleared up our toenails as they grew out. It takes time, but it's very easy. Just use a dropper and put it on after you shower. You don't have to go through all this other crazy stuff. Keep your nails as dry as possible, don't go soak them at a nail salon and use this stuff. It DOES work and it's cheap. You can buy it online at Amazon and maybe other places. The fungus is tough to beat and it will return, so my nails have grown out clear, but I still use it every day after I shower to keep it from coming back. I highly recommend this, but please note your nails have to grow out, this doesn't 'fix' damage already done. Good luck.

Do u out socks on afterwards

After u do the Vicks
