When you get a headache, apply pressure to the pressure point where the bones of your thumb and index finger connect. Its easy to find.. Press hard for as along as you can, and as you do, you will notice the headache fade away.. This almost always works for me and whoever else i tell. I actually read this in a magazine for campers, cause when your camping, you dont always have pain releving drugs.

I`M GOING TO TRY THIS THE NEXT TIME I HAVE A HEADACHE. AS I WAS SITTING HERE READING THIS, I FOUND THE LOCATION OF THE HAND THAT THE PRESSURE NEEDS TO BE APPLIED TO. I SQUEEZED IT FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN RELEASED IT. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT I WILL HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO RELIEVE THE PAIN IN MY HAND. GOT ANY IDEAS?

To the person who asked which hand: whichever is your dominant hand (for most people, the right)
Accupressure points are very sensitive, and if you feel pain in your hand after trying this technique it means you applied too much pressure. Start very gently and feel around, slowly applying greater pressure until you find the spot that produces a sort-of-tingle, sort-of-numbness, sort-of-ache.
I wish I could describe it better, but it's different sensation for each person. At any rate, hold pressure on that spot for no more than 30 seconds at a time. If it doesn't work, or isn't effective enough, wait a few minutes before trying again.
Once you've found that point, and are able to recognize the sensation that pressure on it produces, it's easy to find other points on your body for things like tennis elbow, etc.
Hope that helped

This is absolutely amazing! I have terrible headaches from stress headaches to migranes to sinus headaches. It doesn't completely alleviate migranes although it does provide short spouts of relief. Today I have a terrible sinus headache and it completely alleviated the pain.So i guess it may depend on the person or the cause of the headache , I'm not sure but its so worth the try . If it doesn't work the first time continue to try it as it has helped everytime I have done it.

This did help a bit, once my husband and I tried it out trying to find exactly where the pressure point was. Didn't make my headache go away per say but it made the throbbing stop enough so that when I drank my aspirin milkshake (I can't swallow pills, it makes my choices very limited) I was able to relax enough until the medicine kicked in. Thank you so much for this!

Thank you so much for this tip, it was amazing at how effective it was for relieving my pain. I constantly take tylenol for them and within two weeks have been having 'rebound' headaches ever since. Its nice to have a non medicinal quick fix. Thanks again, forever in your debt, a sixteen year old migraine sufferer : )
