I just wanted to thank everybody for his or her advice and comments. My husband bought the Red Cross Toothache kit for me today. I followed the directions and immediately received relief from this horrible pain. On a scale of one to ten I was a nine and now I am a zero. As others have commented do your best to touch the extraction place only. I accidentally touched the corner of my lip and it burned like crazy; though it lasted only a short while. I am thanking the heavens above for finding this web site. My extraction was 3 days ago and by last night I was ready to take a long walk off a short bridge, the pain was unbearable. I 100% percent recommend Red Cross Toothache product. The taste is gross but well worth the results. Who knew that so many people could fall in love with cloves!

Thank you,
D. Collins

I am so grateful for this advice! I had the Red Cross Toothache Kit but was doubtful and hadn't used it. Well, by the time my pain reached 20 on a scale of 1-10 from dry socket, and my endodontist seemed 'just take pain pills' that were NOT dealing with this particular pain, I finally ripped into that kit and thank heavens I did! It does help, and now I am at least sleeping some and the pain is way down. The only other complication I am having is I use an apnea machine, and I have not used it because I am afraid it will dry me out again. Cold air hurts. Anybody have a solution for this? I am not sleeping well, just kind of sitting up and having the apnea, which is not good. But this kit is the best! Don't wait like I did, just get it and use it. My socket is on the bottom left front area, and eating is insane. Everything gets in it! It's a smaller deep socket. I have had wisdom teeth out with no problem, but this one takes the cake. I am supposed to get an implant and I am afraid of the pain that will cause! Being on the pain pills is helpful, but then you have withdrawal to go through. Anyway, for dry socket, get the kit!

I had my wisdom tooth pulled Thursday, It's now Wednesday and I'm still in excruciating pain! I'm going to walgreens to find clove oil....I had my bottom left wisdom out and my top left teeth are also killing me!! Has anyone experienced this? I have been back to my dentist two times and I guess they think I'm just a baby because they flush it out, and send me on my way! The smell is enough to gag a maggot and he tells me he doesn't know why I'm in so much pain. So tomorrow I'm finding a new dentist. I'm guessing It's a dry socket but Idk all I know is I'm ready to jump off a cliff head first!!
