I got a e-mail the other day that said to put plain white flour on a burn for 10 mins and you will have no blister no burning no redness no anything. I told my family about it and about a week later my mom burnt her finger really bad. She put her hand in cold flour that she had in her fridge and left her hand in the bag of flour for 10 mins after the 10 mins she took her hand out and there was nothing not even a red spot. So if you get a burn of any kind put white flour on it for 10 mins cold flour feels better than room temp. But make sure you keep in on for 10 mins. It works it really does

I just sizzled four fingers on a hot pan and immediately thought, how am I gonna change diapers with blistered fingers?? Thank you for your post! I was looking for a really quick fix (as my six month old started crying...) and how much quicker does it get than the bag of flour I already had sitting out! This really worked! I can't believe it! The flour took the heat out and almost calloused the burns immediately. Where a blister WAS forming...is now gone. No blisters!WOW! Will certainly pass it on!

I had a bad burn from a stove top yesterday. I iced it first and it wasn't helping. I looked on-line and found this post. I left my burnt finger under flour for 45 minutes but it was blistering when I started. 45 minutes later the pain had subsided (I did take an advil) and the blistering was all but gone. This morning, it is a little pink but no blisters and no pain. magic. Thanks.

Thank goodness for Google on my phone. All could remember was what NOT to put on burns. Burnt my fingers (apparently the bottom of an electric skillet is as hot as the top). Quick Google and Amazing! This worked instantly! Wished I'd have learned this year's ago. Thank you kindly for sharing

This is probably because there was self-raising agent in the flour for instance baking powder. And as we all know baking powder is very good at nourishing the skin.

THIS IS WRONG! THE ONLY HOME TREATMENT FOR A BURN IS VERY COOL WATER FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES. DRY THOROUGHLY AND APPLY AN ANTIBIOTIC CREAM IF THE SKIN IS BROKEN. ALOE VERA SHOULD ALSO BE APPLIED TO THE BURN, IF THE BURN IS BAD, GO TO YOUR LOCAL E.R.

My 2 year old daughter burned her hands on my straightening iron today. She was SCREAMING!! I grabbed the flour from the fridge & had her put her hands in it....it instantly helped her tremendously!! She settled down & did not want to get her hands out of the flour because 'it made them feel better!' She does have pretty bad blisters, but I think its because the flat iron is professional heat setting & very hot. We got a Rx of silvadene from the Dr. afterwards & she is playing now & using her hands. I would definitely recommend using flour!
