I developed bursitis after sitting at the computer for 4 months with a slightly elevated shoulder. My shoulder started hurting so much that I could barely stretch my arm. At the time, I thought it was arthritis and went to see my doctor. He asked a couple of superficial questions, agreed it was arthritis and prescribed antibiotics. 10 days later there was no improvement. However, I noticed that the pain was traveling around the shoulder. That seemed strange. After searching online, I found the diagnosis - bursitis. Since this was an inflammation, I started taking a couple of aspirins daily and fixed the height of my chair. The bursitis disappeared within a week. Now I am very careful about the ergonomics of my working environment.
