My nurse practitioner told me that most all of these remedies work with enough time. People try one thing for a week, and when that doesn't work, they try something else for another week. On their third or fourth remedy, something finally works, and then they think this one thing is the answer. But, really, everything was working all along; it just takes 2-4 weeks to get rid of most types of 'ringworm' fungi. She recommended to scrub twice a day with Selsun Blue medicated shampoo; dry with a blow dryer; bandage loosely or not at all; continue for total 4 wks even if the lesion disappears; launder clothes and linens daily or as often as you can. The idea is to remove new spores before they can root and let already rooted spores live out their lives. Bottom line: avoid any temptation to damage the skin, be patient and persistent with care, be fastidious about cleanliness, and let nature take its course.
