Thrush Home Remedy Comments

10 Comments for the Thrush Home Remedy

To treat thrush, use tea tree oil. Dilute 1-2 drops with a bit of water and apply to the infants mouth with a q-tip. If you are nursing treat your nipples after nursing. I use full strength on me when I'm nursing, but I'm prone to thrush as I overproduce milk.

If you don't treat the baby and were he/she eats it will persist.

Thrush is just a yeast infection.

An alarmed paediatrician

Tea tree oil is highly poisonous if ingested. In babies, this would be true in even very small amounts. Please don't.

CoI: Have seen a baby have fits from someone trying this

I have used tea tree oil as a topical remedy for tick bites and internally as a vaginal yeast infection treatment with good results and no poisonous side effects.

Concerned mother

Tea tree oil is UNSAFE when taken by mouth. Don’t take tea tree oil by mouth. As a general rule never take undiluted essential oils by mouth due to the possibility of serious side effects. Taking tree tea oil by mouth has caused confusion, inability to walk, unsteadiness, rash, and coma.
Special precautions & warnings:
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Tea tree oil seems to be safe when applied to the skin. But it should not be taken by mouth. Ingestion of tea tree oil can be toxic. DON'T TRY THIS!!!!

Really!! Give Tea Tree Oil to a baby? IDIOT!! This is why the disclaimer above exists. Please ignore this suggestion on tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is for topical use and even then it's heavily diluted with water when used. And even then you don't want to put it in your mouth.

DON'T DO IT!!!! If this person hasn't poisoned some child is extremely unsafe.

knots not

The words 'are you NUTS' come to mind. I would think this site would take this down so someone doesn't try this.

I drank tea tree oil at around 14 months, and poison controle said I would be fine. Here I am many years later, I do believe this is an OKAY at home remedy.

Experience mom & tea tree user

Tea Tree Oil can be very safe and effective, but it has to be from a trusted and verified source. DO NOT USE from an unverified source. If purchased from such a vender - use sparingly - it tastes horrible, and a little goes a long way :)... T36C5 is good! It is antifungal, antibacterial, and antimicrobial. Effective dosage should not only clear up the thrush but can also be used to sanitize. I have personally used it for over 15 years along with my extended family. It does have a numbing affect, and if a baby were to drink a whole bottle or a large amount they should be monitored. Tea tree can also have a sedation effect if used in larger quantities. I use it on a Qtip and dab around inside of mouth & tongue.

Trying the white vinegar for the first time. I feel it working already. Thank you!

Getting vaccinated at the pediatrician can cause seizures, rashes, sickness, coma, autism & vomiting. Seems like it's just a matter of opinion & genetics to me. Enough with the drama folks.....smh
