I had a pesky cough and after reading these posts I made a cup of chamomile tea then realized I was out of honey. Instead I added some syrup & milk & it's already getting rid of my cough & soothing my throat.
I like to make some TAZO chai tea, it has ginger, anise and cinnamon already in it. I add 2 teaspoons honey and a small pinch of ground cinnamon and turmuric. I then squeeze a wedge of lemon in it and drink hot!
Ok, so I read a lot of the remedies and I noticed turmeric, cinnamon, and honey a lot. I made myself a glass of green tea, added a shake of turmeric, a shake of cinnamon, and a spoonful of honey (all while the tea was still hot. Drank it, cough was almost immediatly gone.
Lots of lemon, a slice of ginger, a clove of garlic, and a tbs of honey all seep in hot water for 5-10 minutes. This should be drank day and night for a few days (it took 5 days for me) and it should clear your coughs. If you have a sore throat then add cayenne peppers too. Here is my story. I got sick about 1.5 months ago with chills and a fever, and then the coughs came a week later. Then they didn't go away. It started out as a dry cough then manifested into a phlegmy one. My chest was congested but I can sense my body wanted to cough out the mucus so I took Mucinex DM. That worked for one day then back to hacking. I've tried the vicks on chest and feet with socks overnight and that only worked for one day as well. I took Tylenol, Nyquil, Advil, Robotusim. I take Emergen-C everyday. Nothing really worked. At some point 2 weeks ago, I stop feeling sick but just maintain this stubborn cough. It not only keeps me up at night but induce me to vomit from coughing too much. I was miserable so I've asked for help and I got this recipe from her. This 'stinky tea' is what I dubbed works for me. I hope this works for you if you're looking for a remedy. Good luck!
