I just wanted to THANK YOU so much for the ideas. I had very sudden tooth pain which started in the night. I did not have clove oil, but put some dry clove powder & turmeric into a little tea tree oil, & put that on my tooth area. Just previous to this, I bit down & chewed on a garlic clove. I have had tremendous relief ! There is still a little discomfort, but nothing like it had felt previously. THANK YOU !

I have been suffering in and out of pain in my tooth for years. I have tried it all, since I am uninsured and too broke to go to the dentist. I admit my oral hygiene is not great, and now when I have tooth pain, not only does it feel like a nail being driven down my tooth, but also feels like someone punched me hard in the cheek. The pain is always in the same spot, so I can kind of pinpoint the problem area, but with everything I've tried, either my tooth is now immune to medicine, or the treatments are too weak. Either way, I finally found something that worked! 'Sting Relief'. It may say for insect bites but ingredients are Ethyl Alcohol 50.0% (First Aid Antiseptic) and Lidocaine HCI 2.0% (Topical Analgesic). I tried a dab on the problem area (careful not to swallow) and it hurt like hell for a while (being that it was cold on something soo sensitive), but once it died down, so did the pain. Not sure how long it will be good for, but something is something. Oragel sucked for me.

What worked for me was ginseng tea and aspirin. Cut a aspirin in half and put it on your tooth. Take a tea bag and make a cup of tea. Cut the string off the tea bag and fold it in half (just the empty part of the bag folded around tea leaves) then stuff it in between your cheek and tooth that hurts. Everytime I did this I was in so much pain when I first put it in but it calmed down after a minute. Then drink your tea on the side that doesn't hurt. The aspirin kinda turns into a paste in your tooth. I could sleep all night long and felt no pain. My toothache lasted two days I brushed with baking soda and rinsed with mouthwash followed by warm salt water to get rid of the taste. I tried the garlic but it didn't bring me pain relief but I highly recommend it to kill infection. Fyi if you have pain in your ear, neck and head you have a infection in your tooth. I had pain in my neck and ear but it went away when I first tried to treat it with garlic even though the pain didn't go away. I tried just chewing garlic and then I did the garlic, turmeric and salt water rinse which you just hold on the tooth for 5 minutes. Get that turmeric and garlic in there natural infection killers. Garlic really burns your tongue though. My boyfriend had a really bad toothache for a month and he couldn't get rid of it until my mom got him some peppermint tea. We tried fresh mint and it didn't work but just after drinking the whole box of mint tea his toothache disappeared and hasn't come back in four months. I was going to put a peppermint tea bag on my tooth today but my pain has been gone since 3:30 when I went to the store to buy some. I hope this helps someone I hated seeing my boyfriend in pain and he hated seeing me in pain but we are both pain free now. Also just pray. Just say 'GOD please take this pain away from me' like a mantra he will listen and even if you only get a little relief thank him he will hear your appreciation and continue to walk with you.

I have been having this really bad pain, I started to take ibeprofun and it wouldn't work so I took a shot glass put pure vanilla in it and gargald it & swosshed it in my mouth were the pain was. It hurts real bad while your doing it but when you spit it out, Give it about 2 to 5 minutes & It should feel somewhat better. I also Numb it For when it gets really bad and I can't handle it no more its gone for about 5 mins.

Garlic is the best remedy for me. I have had my share of toothaches and usually the well known remedies would work, like:otc pain meds anti inflammatory, ice, peroxide, warm salt water, black tea bag w hot water. This last toothace thoe came up and nothing was working. After alot of pain and thinking of going to er I go on this site and see that someone recommend garlic on the wounded gum/tooth. I have never ben the biggest fan of garlic but when it comes to a toothace nothing is close to as affective For me at least.

I did a 20 minute oil pull with swishing.I also ate a garlic clove. About 8 hours later the abscess has gone down.

I am not sure if it was the garlic or the oil pulling or a combination that helped.

I have also been using Listerine holding it in my mouth for about 5 minutes along with using Echinacea every day. I have also started an antioxidant with vitamin A,C and E for immunity. All to try to keep the abscess from getting worse until I can see a dentist for a filling that fell out.

BF has been in horrible pain all night, put icepaxk in his opposite hand, did some cranial sacral therapy, and put a heating pad on medium up against the hurt side of his face. He's snoring now. Hope he stays asleep... if not I'm trying warm tea bags on his gums and rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab.
