8 Home Remedies for Nose Bleed

bruce

As a boy, I had frequent nosebleeds most commonly in the mountains. I am 55 and even in San Francisco at sea level with 50\\% humidity I continue to get them. I was tested and confirmed to have a low platelet count.

My biggest frustration is when the bleeds occurred. I had no control. Once I get them I would pinch to get it stopped and rest quietly for the next few days with no activity. I go to an ear / nose / throat doctor 6 times a year and have been cauterized regularly

The good news, is I have found a home remedy; safe, and easy to manage and it might work for you too.

Initially I assumed my trigger point was humidity. So, for years I tried ointments and saline sprays, but I still got the nosebleeds. I tried drinking more water 80 ounces a day (I am a 165 lb person) to be better hydrated, not much help.

One day I decided to look at what my doctor sees in my nose. I purchased a small 3” convex compact mirror that has 15 x magnification and a high intensity pen light…It was the beginning to finding the solution. You may need to get a nose hair trimmer to see more clearly. With the mirror and flashlight, I could now experiment. I tried the saline spray, ointments, Vitamin K, Vitamin C, 80 ounces of water a day, etc. Nothing really made a difference.

Randomly one day when I had dark scabs in my nose, I drank an 18 ounce Gatorade; about 1 hour later the scabs reduced in size significantly and were almost GONE! Gatorade has, salt, potassium, magnesium which give you electrolytes and somehow it was able to hydrate me unlike plain water to a point where my nose became moist and healthy. Wow and so easy and available anywhere.

Because of all the sugar in Gatorade, I switched to NUUN ACTIVE and I swear by them. They are small tablets which I keep in my overnight bag (along with an extra mirror and pen light). NUUN are ½ the cost of Gatorade and they have NO SUGAR. I play squash, swim, and run regularly, and these tablets are fantastic energy as well.

So, to finish this story with a happy ending, it has been over 2 years, and I have not had a single nose bleed. With mirror and penlight, I check my nose every morning.

I wish you all the best and I hope this story can help you reduce or even eliminate your nosebleeds too.

For males.
I kept getting bad nose bleeds I mean they wouldn't stop at work and it would cause a lot of problems. Well one day my co worker said his grandma told him to do this when he was little and it works instantly. Grab ice or a cold rag and put it under your balls. I'm not even trying to be rude or anything I'm telling you within three seconds you won't have a nose bleed!

Pinch the bridge of your nose just above the nostril flair and hold for a minute or two. I have thin blood vessels up there and this works for me...

i have a remedy that works perfect for me. grab some tissue or napkin paper towel or a couple cotton balls either one of those and stuff some in between upper lip and front teeth stick it way up there for maybe 5-10 minutes there is a pressure point up there that goes directly to your nose may be discomforting but it works great! hope this helped!

I recently began suffering nosebleeds at work , it got so bad that i had to keep a tissue up my nose for most of the day because the slightest turn of the head and blood would pour out .
I saw 4 doctors in 8 days about this because it was constant for 3 to 4 weeks without respite !, needless to say they were useless (one even cauterised my nose in the wrong place !!) i decided doctors were not going to help so researched it on the net .
I finally came across a blog from some guy in the States with the same problem which he had cured .
I am the biggest skeptic there is but decided to follow his advice which involved the taking of one capsule of Cayenne Pepper , one capsule of Vitamin k and one tablet of Vitamin C with flavonoids a day ... nosebleeds stopped immediately ! , after more research i believe the cause of the nosebleeds was an excess of ibuprofen ,i was taking tablets for back pain most days and rubbing ibuprofen gel on my knees before playing football or tennis this had been going on for months , needless to say i do not use it at all now .
If this helps one person i will be happy ,and eternally grateful to the guy who shared it with me .

I lost a job once because I had so many nose bleeds & when a person suggested I try this I told them they were crazy. But, I've had quite a bit of luck with this method! Whenever my nose starts bleeding, I grab a spoon from the kitchen & stick it on some ice in the freezer until it's really cold (doesn't take long if you regularly keep ice in your freezer, or other frozen stuff). Then I pull it out of the freezer & rub the spoon over the base of my neck/between my shoulders (right over the most prominent spinal process). There have been a couple of times where I've had to repeat it once or twice, but for the most part my nose usually stops bleeding immediately or drastically slows the bleeding! It blew my mind that this actually worked, but if you're as desperate as I was to stop your nose bleeds you should give it a try :)

Ok, because everyone on this site is a dumbass, let me put the logical way to cure a nose bleed.

You can't :)

Just hold your head back, and it'll stop when it's damn good and ready.

Don't believe me?
You go right on ahead and shove anal medication (yup, someone ACTUALLY suggested that) up your nose.
