I have had angular cheilitis for pretty much half year, it started when I had lots of stress and lack of sleep for couple of months in a row , firSt thing I got was athletes foot ,and then I knew my immune system was damaged and seems like somehow it spreaded to my mouth, it was pretty bad at the time, could open my mouth as the cracks was bleeding , it was hard to talk and especially almost imposible to eat, back then I didn't realise it's angular cheilitis. When I knew something isn't OK angular cheilitis already was kinda in my nose, I was little bit ill back then and had running nose and I felt it was cracked and really painful. I tried everything and nothing helped , I tried anty fungal creams, and some steroid creams as well, think "Fucibet cream" fusidic acid/betamethasone was the one I felt like helped me. As doctors was saying I have a sold core "lol" I just asked them for prescription and it helped. And one more is really good because it gives you that moisturising feeling its called "Fucidin ung.2\\%" bought it in Latvia dont know how its called in UK or anywhere else, good thing abt it is that you can apply it longer than Fucibet, easily for a month . Of Fucibet the cracks were gone in day or two, But I kept curing it for few more months till now, I saw these weird I would say scars in corners of mouth which seemed to get worse if I didn't apply anything on them after eating or drinking something. I kept feeling some weird sensitive/dry feeling on my lip's and i though cheilitis somehow still there and was afraid horible cracks will come back. Can anyone tell me are thouse scars I still have there and i shouldnt be worried anymore? And could it be that I have damaged my lips with all of them steroid creams and that's the reason my lips doesn't feel normal? I developed Angular Cheilitis suddenly and suffered with cracks in the corners of my mouth for over 6 months. I tried every treatment recommended on the internet, and while some things helps, it never went away. I felt like I looked like a clown. I started taking Claritin for another issue, I had not seen any suggestions to try it previously for my Angular Cheilitis, but in 4 days it was permanently gone. I still take it, every other day. I use Walmart's generic Claritin, it's very inexpensive, just a few dollars for a bottle of tablets. I tested it many times, stopping the Claritin for a few days, and the cracks always came back. Blistix medicated is also good for some quick relief until it heals. Vasaline also helped at night when it was really bad, applied thickly to corners so the drool couldn't soak in. I think the Claritin really just stops some of the drooling, and that is why it worked for me.
I always get Angular Cheilitis and im tired of it! I decided to use some lotion and it took care of it suprisingly. I used dermasil it is a good brand to use for Angular Cheilitis
Instead of wasting your money and time just take yourself to cvs and buy the chopstick called hurts and bees it is really helpful I used to have really cracked corners because I play French horn and I always lick my lips it helped me a lot but I noticed that when you stop using it it comes back so make sure to put it on frequently it only cost about four dollars but it's better than an expensive thing that won't even work
I have had AC for almost a month. A pharmacy tech I know recommended a washcloth with hot water before applying anything and this has helped a great deal. The most important thing is to not open your mouth wide enough to reinjure yourself while your wounds are dry. so keep them moist but make sure you have something on there. (neosporin, curad silver solution..etc) I finally broke down and purchased the silver solution and have seen a HUGE improvement in the last 24 hours. Use the warm wash cloth, hold it on your affected areas until the washcloth is no longer warm, use the same washcloth to gently remove any excess skin and then apply silver solution liberally. Use a different washcloth each time because it needs to be clean and you don't want to reinfect yourself. I hope this helps someone! P.S. The silver solution says to apply once daily and cover with bandage. I've been applying every 4 hours (no bandage) with no bad side effects so do not be afraid to apply as needed.
I have tried EVERYTHING over the last 6 months in order to get rid of the angular cheilities.
i have tried cockunt oil , anti bacterial and anti fungal creams , vasalin etc. nothing helped.
i also had a red ring around my lips after eating.
i finally managed to get over it by the following method.
1. cleaned my lips with antibacterial dishwash.
the full method is detailed here:
2. I took vitamin b-complex 50
3. the important one , that I didn't see over the internet but affected the most : Bepanthen cream.
I had two cuts on the left corner of my lip (Angular Cheilitis) for over a week and it wouldn't heal. Finally I started taking one iron pill and one B2 vitamin pill everyday in the morning and after 2 days the cuts are almost gone! Because Angular Cheilitis is caused by an iron and/or B2 vitamin deficiency, it makes sense.
I had Angular cheilitis and i think it was caused by some sort of infection that spread throughout my whole body and into my feet..so much so that I could hardly walk, my mouth was red with open cuts on the sides, at some point it went around my eyes. I think I was exposed to either a virus or bacteria from a nail salon. I suffered for a number of years and I gave up with my doctor because he wasn't interested. It goes away with antibiotics, but returns in like a cycle. now it's subsided with a better diet, lots of vitamins and occasionally i have to be treated with antibiotics to relieve the symptoms. I don't know what it is, but it's not fun.
I had the sores in the corner of my mouth for about 2 weeks chapstick was not working I had some miconazole nitrate cream which is an antifungal cream I rub that on the corners of my mouth and within two days they were completely gone
When submitting a remedy, please be specific for how long where before or after eating. You just write ohh i used coco oil, what does that even mean?
There are people who would benefit from precise instructions!!!
