an easy way to get a deep slinter is to put a layer of honey on the area and sprincle some bi-carb soda on top and put a band aid on it. leave it over night and in the morning it should be at the surface of the skin so you can easly get it out

If you have a splinter that you can't get to come out - place a small piece of bacon on the splinter and cover with a bandaid or piece of tape and leave overnight. The next morning the salt and grease will have brought the splinter to the surface of the skin and should come right out.

Household glue if there is any sign of a sliver of the splinter above the skin. Wait until dry and the the tot peel it off him/herself. If it does not work the first time, try again. If this doesn't work have the tot dip the affected area, usually a fingertip or toe, into a hot as could be comfortably stood in a bowl (preferable stainless steel as it holds the heat in best) with a good amount of epsom salts. After about 5 minutes or so of soaking, the wound will be numb and, if they are not looking (i.e. watching a video or cartoons), you can slide the sliver out painlessly with a sterilized needle and lift out with tweezers and or try the glue trick again and they will think they did it themselves and won't be frightened anymore when it happens again.

I had a sliver of glass in my foot and couldn't get it out. I researched home remedies on line and only found remedies for wood splinters however I was desperate so I tried one which really sounds absurd but it worked! I put a piece of bacon fat on the spot, adhere it with a band aid and wrapped the area so it wouldn't slip out. I don't eat pork but it sounded crazy enough to work. The next day the glass was gone!! Sounds crazy but it works!

For a Splinter/Sliver:
Take some of that white school glue (elmers) put it on the area where the sliver is, let the glue dry, then peal off the glue, the sliver will pull off right along with the glue...

If the splinter is too deep to get with tweezers, use a poultice of equal parts of sugar, oil and grated Fels Naptha soap (1/8 tsp each or less). Put a small amount on the splinter, cover with bandaid. Be careful not to use too much or you'll never get the bandaid to stick. You can periodically check on the progress of the splinter and usually, by morning it is gone.
