For a strong womb, mix half a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in a cup of hot water and leave for half an hour; then drink (eat the seeds as well). Do this every morning with an empty stomach. This can also prevent a yeast infection.

I know this doesn't sound serious but the best way to relieve menstrual cramps is to have an orgasm- when the muscles 'down there' contract and release it stops the muscles from 'cramping'. Not the Sexiest time of the month for any of us but this really does provide relief!

To relieve menstrual cramps quickly and easily, wrap a hot, wet towel around your mid-section and lay in the fetal position. This also soothes back ache.

You can also gently prod your lower abdomen with three or four fingers to release gas pain.

As soon as you missed the first day of your period, dissolve 2 aspirins, 1/2 tsp. of sugar and 1/2 tsp. of honey into 1/2 cup of water. Drink it quickly so the aspirin takes effect. Aspirin keeps blood from thickening (that's why cardiac patients take aspirin once a day to keep blood from clogging arteries) and will make your period come regularly

drink warm green tea (no sugar) and warm iquids throughout your cycle. This will thin and slow down the bleeding and rid the cramps. cold liquids makes the muscles contract harder. Also stay away from dark liduids which makes the blood flow more.

Obviously heat helps alleviate cramps. One simple way to facilitate this is to use your lap top lying down. Put the lap top on your lower belly, and enjoy (for once) the fact that your computer's internal fans are inefficient or non-existent (holler to all the Apple users out there!).

Secondly, I've found that using a menstrual cup (i.e. Diva Cup, LadyCup, etc) really helps with cramps. I think it's because then your uterus has something to contract against. Also, they are without a doubt the most comfortable form of menstrual protection.

When dealing with menstrual cramps, it's best to stay away from caffeine, it quickens the heart, which quickens the blood, which causes waaaaay more pain than normal. I tried this. I eliminated caffeine from my diet for 6 months to see how my body would react. For those 6 months my cramps were much lighter, and the months where I had a rigorous play schedule, my cramps were almost non-existent.
Basically, eliminate caffeine and kick up the physical activity. Hot baths or heating pads at night before bed.

This is a home remedy that helps to reduce cramps and helps with hot flashes. place a pinch of dried ground ginger in a cup of hot boiling water for a tea (NO SUGAR), and let steep for 5 minutes. Drink and enjoy. However do not drink this at night for it will give you energy, and as women we need our beauty sleep!!

Also as a reminder...

1. ginger can be use to relieve upset stomach in tea form or eat a piece of pumkin pie or drink hot apple cider.

2. A little ginger goes a long way. Too much ginger can make your doo doo runny.
