I have found that if you keep baby powder on a breakout that it helps with the pain and helps it heal faster. I have had GH since I was 15 and I am now 21. I have had very few break outs since then. I dont take any medicine for it and im not sure whyI have few outbreaks but I have found that keeping baby powder on it helps it heal faster.

I went to the doctor yesterday and was told I have gh 2. My husband was unfaithful while on his military base, and I contracted it. I have been reading everyone's posts, and I must say I am sooo glad I found this site. I went to the doctor for treatment for a uti, and just assumed the bumps were related to that. After a pelvic exam, I was told otherwise. I have tried vagisil wipes, baby powder, neither helped. The aloe vera helped with the pain for a little while. I also tried a cold compress, which helped for a few minutes. I am running an epsom salt bath right now in hopes it will ease the pain. I am in so much pain I can't sit down, and it hurts to stand up. Urinating is possibly the worst pain I have ever felt. If anyone has any other tips, please let me know! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has this horrible disease.

First outbreak ever. Im 22. Cheated on my bf of 5 years. He doesnt have it. At first it started out as some perineal swelling, thought it was hemmorrhoids. Went to er as it became hard to sit. Was diagnosed with a uti. Stsrted having watery discharge heavily. That night noticed first little bump inside my vagina lip. Went the next day to get tested, she said for sure it was herpes. The swab was the worst pain in my life. In about three days i now have what feels like little cuts in about 10 different places on my vagina and anus. I am on Acyclovir 400mg 3x a day for 10 days, i started those tuesday night.
I just tried some home remedies that were on here. Hopefully it will help dry them up. Some witchazel pads for the burning, and i put some teatree oil on to help the drying, then i used a blowdryer on low setting. Its a cooling effect, still some discomfort but seems to be a little helpful. I made the biggest mistake of my life doing what i did. I look at life on a whole new way now and i am greatful for so much more.

I'm 16, just diagnosed with herpes. I was so scared at first, but i told my boyfriend, and he took it very well. I considered leaving him because i didnt want to risk him getting it, but he insisted he would take the risk and stay with me. I first felt alittle sore down there for a few days, not even thinking anything of it. I eventually looked and found around 3 little pimple-like white spots. I still didnt want to tell my mom cause i was afraid. I stupidly shaved and everything spread and got worse. I had to choice but to tell my mom. I ended up with herpes and folliculitis (bad spelling) but that was basically from shaving and had nothing to do with herpes. Vagisil itching cream helped SO MUCH with the burning while peeing.

What i did was i would use the bathroom, use a feminine cloth to clean the area, then apply the vagisil cream. Get medication immediatly!

I've been to a doctor about my herpes once. The doctor instantly said it was herpes. Well I was reading about some remedies, and I have figured out one that seems to be working for me (Day 1 of it and it looks gone completely already.) This morning I was feeling the small irritation that happens, (Only have had 1 other major outbreak that I went to the doc for,) and I instantly went and grabbed a bag of ice, some baby oil, and hydrogen peroxide. I rubbed in some baby oil to moisten the skin for the ice to be able to seep in. I then put the ice on and kept the ice on for about 10-15 minutes, didn't use a sheet or anything to cover it, so the cooling affect could happen immediately. After I was done with that, I used a Q-Tip and the hydrogen peroxide, you don't need much. Just enough to soak both ends of the Q-Tip in. I then put the hydrogen peroxide on, rubbed it all over my penis. Then I just put my shorts back on, and have been reading other ways to combat this horrible disease. That's just what I did, and so far so good.. I hope this works, it was the first sign and my first reaction. No more irritation, and no more pain it seems. I also took a few vitamins and plan on taking more throughout the next few days. Immune boosters mainly. Hope this helps, sounds funny to me. But yeah. Hahaha.

I had an out break just about every month for years and tried just about every remedy there is. then I was diagnosed with hyper tension and some one told me to take a tee spoon of cayenne pepper diluted in 8 oz.glass of water first thing in the morning and before bed time. which I did not like at all, until I tried chicken soup instead of plain water and I also add lemon juice and chopped green onions to it. It's been two years since I reduced My cholesterol level to normal, high blood pressure and no herpes at all and as bonus I hardly get the flu.

Well I have had this condition for about a year now, im 19. When I get ob's they are untolerable. I decided to try the orajel thanks to the 16 year olds post and thank god I did. I couldnt even walk I was in so much pain. Ive had this ob for 3 weeks and I think it was triggered by having sex with my boyfriend who is aware I have it. We use protection at all times. I thnk he is jst too much and the tension from his larger size could be a reason for my ob right? Ive gt obs before after intercourse with him. Idk wat to do cuz he means the world to me but if his size is effecting me in this way do I just need to use lube or somethin? I dont have sex if theres any signs of an oncoming ob. I take valtrex as prescribed. I bought aloe vera gel 100% with no alchohol in it but it did nothing I bought witch hazel but im terrified it will burn and I have low pain tolerance so I dont want to make myself more miserable. I also bought the 1000mg of lysine but theres no way I can swallow that huge pill without spittin it up..update on orajel.. As im writing i felt relief but it didnt numb it completely. It kinda feels mentholish? Like a cooling effect but I feel that tingle itchyness still. Im scared to pee still and ive been holding it off wich I know isnt good but im a baby wen it comes to pain.is there Anything else that I can use to completely numb down there? Will ambesol be better then orajel? I bought the liquid bandaid but ive decided after using it on my finger for a tester to see how it works I better not put it down there. Seems very hard to remove. Any other anesthetics that are good for very painful ob?

I was diagnosed with GH2 today. I thought I just had sores, didn’t realize what I had so I used triple antibiotic ointment. WORST IDEA EVER. I was in SO MUCH PAIN.
I went to my doc and she prescribed me a cream that numbs. I have used this and it doesn’t help the pain as much as I would have liked. I looked up this site and someone recommended Tylenol PM Paste. I tried this and it burned at first, but the pain is gone for most of the day. This is the best idea ever!!! Thank you soooo much for suggesting it!!! And all this support is so great.

My wife has herpes simplex 2 on her bottom I found this cure it works very well and will help control future outbreaks. If you have a outbreak take 3 4 bottles of 3% hydrogen peroxide run a bath put the 3 bottles in the bath water and soak for a 30 min. Repat 3 or 4 days and the herpes will have probably cleared up if not repeat. Your body will heal so fast it won't scab for the most part. If. You feel like an out break coming do step one and you will not even break out.

If anyone could answer this in comments, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm pretty sold on the Tylenol PM, however, it is only a topical treatment. Do any of you get internal sores? I do, and urinating is unbearable. The urine passes right over them and burns, everything becomes swollen, and I can't think of anything to soothe it. Maybe a douche?

The sores go pretty deep. I have type 1. I'm 16. My first outbreak was June 26th, today it's August 8th and I'm having a second outbreak. I'm due for my period soon and I dont want my outbreak to overlap with that. And I start my senior year in a week, ahah. Bad timing.

Dang guys i got this terrible disease from a cheating girlfriend about a month or two ago. So far I have had two consecutive break outs in a row. Desperate and willing to try anything. I have made an amazing cream that is basically the cure for an outbreak. All that is needed is some Aloe vera gel, Lemon balm capsules, vitamin C, tea tree oil and a piece of paper towel large enough to cover the infected area. Now you will get a bowl, squirt a good amount of aloe vera gel into it. Add the contents of the lemon balm to it. Crush your vitamin C and add. Then to top it off put the tea tree oil in and mix all of it together. I would wait around 15 to 25 minutes so that the vitamin C can be well dissolved into the liquid. What you can do to pass the time is hop into the shower and clean the infected area, or if your blisters have not yet been popped this is a good time to do so. After drying off you will need to remain naked. Now head over to your bowl and dip the paper towel piece that you ripped off until it is fully soaked into the mixture. When fully soaked, take it out of the bowl and place it onto the infected area. This will burn for a minute. But it is a good burn dont sweat it, i promise its worth it. Now what you will need to do is go sit down, relax, and watch some tv or do anything to keep you busy. It takes some time for your paper towel to dry. What i do is go lay on my bed, grab my fan, and point it directly at my genitals and watch tv. The fan is not needed but is very helpful in speeding up the drying phase. With the fan it takes about 30 to 45 minutes for it to dry. I do this right before bed also and i remain naked thru the night. Upon waking up if the paper towel is still there you can either keep it on until it falls off sometime during the day or you can take it off. But if you do decide to take it off i recommend that you wet the towel again with either water or the mixture. If you dont it will rip the scabs off that have already formed.
Now that i have told you my secret healing mixture there are just a couple of more things that i add to the mix just to kill the virus out quick. I take 5000 to 6000 mg of L-Lysine a day added with 5000-7000 vitamin C and 500-700 of zinc. I also only drink water and tons of it. With this combination of things it is like you did not even have and outbreak. This most recent outbreak happening two days ago with about 8 sores has already healed and gone away.
Well i hope i could be of some service to many of you out there with the same problem. Good luck.

I had them on my lip and held fingernail polish removal (with acetone) to them and used the walmart brand neosporin and its worked for me, if you catch it early it works best. When I started getting clusters of bumps in the genital area, I went to the dr, twice for the same time. The dr said he was 98% sure it was herpes. My ex husband had cheated on me so I knew it was a possibility. They tested for hsv (herpes), yeast, and other stds as well. They all came back negative. But I don't believe the drs actually tested for hsv type I which usually shows up 'above the belt' such as the mouth and face but can cause breakouts in the genital area though it doesn't have preference there. YOU CAN GET BOTH TYPES EITHER PLACE. I paid for almost 300$ testing later at a special private testing center and confirmed I do have type 1. Anyways, I'm 24, told I should do modeling, under 100 pounds, and have 4 beautiful and perfect children. Yet now, somehow I feel he has taken my health and I hate dating because I'm afraid that one day I could spread it to someone else and don't even know or can't explain it to anyone because I'm afraid of the stigma that comes with the condition. Or worse, my babies could get it from me somehow near their eyes or from a towel. Its devastating really.

I am 23 and I was diagnosed with HSV1 on my genitals about 8 weeks ago. It all started when I had received oral sex from a friend of mine on a few occasions way back in April and had symptoms of jock itch. I thought maybe it could have just been because of his saliva or something and bought a topical cream for it. Then months went by and I still had it but I thought maybe it was dry skin. In the middle of September I woke up one morning with horrible diarrhea and headaches and a couple days later I was shaving my genitals and thought I had cut myself. One day later I had around 25 sores which escalated to possibly over 100 all around my entire genital area. I didn't want to believe that it was herpes but I just knew it was. It took me a week and a half to get into my gyno and in that time I was going through the worst pain I've ever endured. I did a ton of research and prepared myself for the worst. By the time I had gotten into my dr I had come to terms with having it and thought there's no reason to freak out because it is controllable and I'm going to have to deal with it anyways. My boyfriend (who isn't the guy that gave it to me) freaked out but was supportive. He was tested and it came back negative but he has in the back of his head that I got it from cheating on him which isn't possible since I never have ( he's been hurt by girls before) but now he hasn't been to my place in 8 weeks because I think he's afraid to have sex with me again. I got fired from my job a week after I found out I have herpes, I haven't gotten unemployment, and I've just been having such a hard time lately. I tried staying positive but now I keep thinking how no one is ever going to want to have sex with me again.
Well, anyways, I have the jock itch symptoms back and if anyone has any reccomendations on how to control the itch that would be helpful! Or has anyone ever had such a large dormant time before their first outbreak?
I tried a lot of the home remedies I read on here when I had the outbreak and the Tylenol PM paste worked wonders!!! I crushed up 4 tablets, put in a pump of anbesol, a drop of warm water and mixed it up, put it on..it would totally numb it for almost an entire day. I also got a prescrip of Valtrex and once I started taking that it began clearing up. Also, when I got out of the shower I would blow dry my vaginal area and that helped a lot. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.

Ok, so I have had herpes type 2 since I was 17, and I used condoms. I never wanted meds so I use to let breakouts ride out. I'm now 24 and I found this site so I said let me try, because I get o-b's 1-2 a year but when they come they last weeks. I've been in a relationship now and they understand. So I said I would not post till I have a o-b and I try all methods and tell y'all. First of all.. liquid bandage...no, only makes it worst, it hurts and it gets no better cause u have to peel it off and u peel off the healed skin and the process starts all over.DONT DO IT!! Bleech...come on y'all don't b crazy...didn't even try that one...soaking in epson salt followed by perioxde helped sooo much, they started healing fast..I also use baby powder to help iching and pain...works sooo good. But the secrect is taking lystine 1000mg 3 times daily as well as using super lystine cold sore treatment on sores. YES! Super lystine cold sore treatment works on sores down there! I did this and they cleared up in 3-4 days. they told me to keep them dry so I put it on then baby powder over it..works like a charm! I just happen to glance at the bottle when I was in the vitamin row at the grocery store..I knew it had to work since my doc told me to take lystine orally I knew that if I used it down there it would work and it did...so I'm sharing...please don't give up hope bros, this works. So recap..soak in epson salt 30 min twice a day, air dry, put peroxide on sores, air dry, apply super lystine cold sore treatment, wait about 5 min and apply baby powder, also take lystine 1000mg 3 times a day. I promise u will see results, took me 8 years to find this blend adit works! 3-4 day clear up time. I know I only get 1-2 a year but my come on strong so if it works for me...I know it will help y'all! Tell me how it works for u I will be checking back!

The emotional pain one deals with when they have herpes far exceeds the physical pain. Even a year after having herpes my eyes swell with tears everytime I think of this terrible disease that I have to live with for the rest of my life. The trick is to stop an ob before you get it. Everyone gets different symptons I usually get a pain on my buttocks. Once you get the sympton double your vitamin intake, take lysine and put vagasil or diaper rash cream on the area that tingles. If your fortunate, the ob will not appear. If it does the tylenol pm paste everyone speaks about works wonder. It does burn the first five seconds but after its pure relief and lasts all day. I use a few drops of water about four or five crushed pills and about three pumps of vagasil. It truly works wonders. Pop in two pain killers and you will feel so much better. I know its very difficult to live with this disease. Even when you are not experiencing an ob, it is in your head. Every itch, every pain feels like the beginning of an ob. Thank you to everyone that has shared their story, I have read them all and I no longer feel alone. My current partner gave me the disease, he has never gad an ob and if I had never gotten infected he would most likely still not know. Although I would like to blame everyone and anyone ultimately it was my choice to have unprotected sex and not demand my partner get tested. Although hes a wonderful person I cant help but feel angry that I must suffer the excrutiating physical pain from this disease while he is home free. God bless you all. Take care of yourselves and do remember it could be worse. You wont die from this disease, do not let it define you. You are beautiful and you will find someone out there who will agree.

Apply ice to reduce pain and swelling. Place crushed ice cubes in a plastic bag (a bag of frozen peas or frozen unpoppped popcorn also works), and wrap it in a cloth that is the thickness of a sheet. Place it directly on the area. Keep it in place for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Reapply several times throughout the day.

At age 18 and 5 months pregnant, I was diagnosed with a severe case of the Herpes Virus. It was so bad I was hospitalized for a week and the outbreak lasted a month. I couldn't take pain killers or other meds but I could use an over-the-counter drug that my doctor suggested and have been using in bad outbreaks over the years. It's called Burrow's Solution. It comes in powder or already premade. I suggest the powder to mix at home versus the premade since it gives you several applications instead of a few with the premade liquid. I am now 49 and have lived with this virus for almost my whole life. I do not take valtrex on a daily basis but keep it on hand for the first signs of a break out. I also use another over the counter called Cameseptine cream. It is made for the genital area and relieves pain and protects the skin. Both over the counter drugs are usually kept behind the pharmacy counter, so you need to ask for it. I found stress is my trigger, so learning meditation and exercising can reduce outbreaks. I've had years where I was symptom free and years I've had at least 6 outbreaks. As with many people who felt horrible with contracting the virus, I learned that honesty is always the best policy. If you're upfront from the get-go, you will find very little, if any rejection. Listen to your body and know your symptoms prior to an outbreak and it can really limit exposure to others. I've been either married or in a relationship for over 25 years and my partners have never contracted it. Life does go on and the virus doesn't define you.

Any foods or supplements that boost the immune system and overall genital health will both prevent outbreaks and lessen the severity and duration when you do have them. This includes garlic, lysine (taken daily for no more than two weeks at a time--you can take a break and then resume taking it), echinacea, goldenseal. Garlic is my personal favorite. Also yogurt, saeurkraut and acidophilus tablets.

The best thing I've found for externally treating herpes sores is Vitamin E--PURE Vitamin E. Vitamin E works as well for this as it does for other forms of skin irritation. I get the capsules, bust one open and apply it to the sores several times a day. It's thick and sticky but I think it's worth it for the relief it brings. Also, aloe vera gel. Again, try to get the purest stuff possible, and dear god, don't use some aloe vera lotion mix for treating sunburns.

These methods work especially well for ulcers. As for external methods of helping the sores to heal as quickly as possible, you want to dry them out. Baking soda paste works great.

Try to keep the area as clean and dry as possible--but be gentle to avoid irritating it. Wear underwear as little as possible, or as little as you're comfortable with doing.

Also if you use tea tree oil, dilute it with water. It's pretty serious stuff to be putting on such sensitive skin. Baking soda soaks help as well--it helps the sores to dry out and if you make it as warm as you can stand it, the heat will increase circulation and help you to heal faster.

This is not a remedy nor a cure for herpes but it works on me every time I feel that burnning feeling before the outbreak. with a Q-tip apply Isopropyl alcohol 'rubbing alcohol' to the affected area a few times a day (it hurts a lot specially if outbreak is advanced)but you can bet it goes away in 2 or 3 days and to help prevent outbreaks take Lysine .Good luck.

To speed up healing time of an outbreak, I used 'new skin' it's liquid band-aid. Dont ask me what made me think of it, but the first of my outbreak, i applied it that night and my sore healed that next mourning. my outbreaks usally last about 7-10 days. New skin is an antiseptic, it cleans and it kepts the sore dry to speed up healing. it does burns a little, but it definitely worked for me. i only tried it once about 3 months ago and i reapplied if any burning or itching occur before an outbreak and i haven't seem any outbreaks yet. please comment i would love to know if it really works.

(GARLIC MAGIC)

If You've tried all sorts of Meds and remedies and you just can't get rid of the darn warts. Here is what you do, this is from personal experience by the way. Either blend smooth Garlic or crush if you don't have a blender. I like to cook with Garlic so I had it ready and in the freezer to keep fresh. So what I did was(after washing hands:-)just took about one table spoon from my cooking portion and put it into a sandwich bag(zip bag or whatever)just to separate the cooking Garlic from the one you'll be using as a remedy. Ok, so this is how you'd apply it. Take about 1/4 teaspoon or as needed to over area of wart(s), the great thing is that you've made this Garlic into like 'paste' you just spread it on area. And it will stick, cuz Garlic naturally has a bit of stick to it, so while you're at home just watching tv or just reading(chillin') put on and relax and most importantly take your mind off what just did. I say this cuz if you just keep fussing over the discomfort/heat/stinging it will seem forever to wait 20min which is all you need each night for about a week(it depends of the depth or seriousness of the warts). If you can leave it on for like an hour(1hour)it would be better. I know that Garlic is a bit unpleasant to smell for that long but it will be worth it when you're wart-free. BELIEVE me. Before I tried GARLIC I tried Apple Cider Vinegar which also works for some people, it seemed to work slower for me...and having these damn warts, you just can't afford to waste time and you want to get rid of them ASAP!!! So I tried it and I was amazed!!! One last note, if you find applying GARLIC every day(which by the way if you can do it twice a day it will only hurry the process)to be too much...then just do it every 2days, that way you'll allow some time for some healing. What causes stinging and heat from hell is cuz the wart was attacked by the garlic and is dying(like an open wound)...Hope this HELPS SOME ONE OUT THERE - PLEASE KEEP CONSISTENCY FOR BEST RESULTS - GOOD LUCK TO ALL...

Not for the fainthearted- Iodine- But instant.
I get it about always on the Scrotum sac or on the skin of the penile shaft and foreskin. I use decolorized tincture of Iodine. I use a small cotton dap and dip it in the Iodine. You let it soak up and quickly press it on the small blisters. If the blister is broken you will feel an almost intolerable flash of pain that dies off instantly almost as quick as it has started. Now keep the area open for a while till its dry. The blister will be gone within that day. If it requires a second treatment the next day it seems not to sting as bad as the first treatment. Occasionally, I get one under the foreskin, in t5hat case you let the cotton dap dry out as well and once dry place this over the blistered area and let the Foreskin roll back to keep it in place. I got this idea when I was in Hospital for knee replacement prosthesis. The medical staff scrubbed the whole leg in preparation and used Iodine to sterilise the whole leg. The doctor mentioned that there are no know bacteria or viruses that can survive in Iodine.
By the way after it is gone keep taking two garlic capsules a day for life. Once I stop it appears again.

Been with dumb virus for 3 months and after going through Triple Antibiotic, A&D Ointment, and Antibacterial Soap. I found that an OTC Jock Itch Oinment work. It goes by the name of Terbinafine hydrocloride. I use it twice a day and it helps reduce redness and swelling. It also makes the initial breakout receed. I keep on using it until all telltale signs are gone. Even after the little pimples turns to scabs. I learned this the first time. Ever since I have never had them get this far. A little bump and then they are gone.
Also it seems that any jock itch cream or fungicide works fine.

I can count the times i've received an outbreak over the past 8 yrs. wow I didnt realize it's been that long until now b/c of few outbreaks. I learned to eat normally (not necessarily healthy), don't stress (especially no crying), don't sit on hard objects for too long (bleachers, cement, floors), & get some sleep. I also had a natural childbirth after the 3rd yr of having GH. I was given an antiviral to take a week or two b4 the delivery date, but chose not to. Normally if I feel the tingling sensation, I immediately begin to do leg exercises (like 50+ toe touches-not jumping), or extending the leg backwards so many times & jumping jacks. I guess i should say anything to get movement & blood flowing in that area. No jumping during pregnancy. I may have had 3 outbreaks over the 1st few yrs & none since. once i learned that sitting in a tub with just enough of water to cover the area (only cold) brought so much relief. Or applying bleach to a cotton ball & applying it directly on the area (not recommended for vaginal-burning sensation) also helped. I used to drink the Bolthouse Fruit Blend Juice from walmart (sold individually). It comes in 4 different flavors i believe carrot, green goodness, something red, & the orange one. i always chose the orange one b/c it has the most vitamin C & it seemed to help out a lot. it's usually in the cool area by the fresh vegetables in the front. And delicious. Hope any of this is helpful.

For real quick temporary relief (about 4 hours) I get a tube of rectinol from the pharmacy. It's a haemmorhoid cream with anaesthetic.

This has got to be one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. I contacted this disease nearly 20 years ago; I contacted it from my 1st love - he was older and obviously more mature than I was. He did not inform me until we were walking into the doctor's office. My very first outbreak was a huge blister on my left thigh; that's typically where I have my OB's, well, until 3 years ago. The guy I was dating at the time has it but never informed me, so I never told him. I knew that he had it because I was having an OB 2 - 3 times/mo. Prior to dating him, I hadn't had an outbreak in over 6 or 7 years. I'm extremely frustrated because I have an OB now! It's extremely painful and puts me in an emotional and depressed mood! I know where my OB's are derived from: chicken (which I never eat); sweet red wines and pops! I never eat chicken, due to the hormones; however, over the holiday, I felt the need to eat a frigging bird and I've been having irritations every since; the initial OB didn't come until today. Luckily, I'm single and don't have to worry about transferring this horrible STD to anyone. I no longer have insurance, but my cousin has the same disease and she sends me a few of her meds whenever I have an OB (whew)!!! She's the only one that knows about my incidence; I'm too embarrassed to share it with anyone else! I bathed in hydrogen peroxide and epsom salt, it's soothing for the moment, but the pain just won't go away. Thanks for the rememdies and be safe; I don't wish this disease on my enemy!

I have lived with this wonderful gift now for a year. I had my OBGYN put me on Acylovir. Its the generic version of Valtrex. Its about thirty dollars per month, but I don't get outbreaks. To me, its worth the money to not have had an outbreak for a year. It is the only thing that has stopped the outbreaks. The home remedies work, but nothing stops an outbreak, this is the only thing that has worked for me.
I also had to have a lifestyle change, eat healthier, eat leaner protiens, fruits, vegetables and take vitamins that improve the immune system.

I was diagnosed in June of this year, and I was only 19. It was the most horrible experience, and I thought my life was over. I just recently turned 20 and i forget that I have it, anymore. I went to the doctor, got tested and was put on medicine that will change your perspective about having hsv. I'm on valtrex and lysine and I haven't had an outbreak since. Don't be ashamed because you have it, I'm young and I PROMISE it gets better. Get yourself checked out and taken care of instead of the dangerous home remedies that can help for a day. Keep your head up guys:)

I have had herpes for over 20 years and I have tried everything.... crazy things! I tried the prescription meds when I was first diagnosed and they didn't really help and they made me sick at my stomach and gave me headaches. Finally, I have hit upon 2 things that actually work, quickly and cheaply. I have done some trial and error self testing and I have struck gold. LoL First of all: Prevention - Vitamin D with D3, 400 I.U. a day. I started taking it for another reason entirely, so this was a really happy accident. I had been taking it for a while and ran out. Didn't think it was a big deal. I started getting outbreaks every month when I had gone months and months and months without any. I am very careful with my diet and know my trigger foods (bananas and peanuts) so I didn't know what was going on. I tried to figure out what I was doing different and I realized that the OB started when I ran out of Vitamin D with D3. Started taking it again and I was fine.... for a long time, and then I got cocky and ate a peanut butter sandwich; then another a few days later. Well, it serves me right - yep, I got an OB. I think if I would have stopped after 1 sandwich, I would have been okay. Before I started taking D with D3, one single peanut would give me an OB right away. Seriously. Please Google Vitamin D with D3 for herpes. Many people have had success with it and I strongly believe it has kept me OB free, besides the peanut butter incident. Know your trigger foods, too. Don't get cocky! Next up, Treatment: Tagamet - which is heartburn medicine. Buy the generic (Cimetidine) at Walmart, it's under $3 for 60 pills. (goodbye over-price non-working prescription meds!) Don't get any other heartburn medication. It HAS to be Cimetidine! If you have an OB or feel one coming on, take 1 pill 3 times a day, (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and then 2 at bedtime. I am not going to lie - by day 2 you are going to have some um, intestinal distress, but it's worth it because by day 2, your sores will probably be gone and I am not kidding. If you are like me, OB usually last 10 days so 2 is a cake walk and a gift. If you know when your OB is coming on and you start taking these, you may not get any blisters at all. Now, I have made some mistakes along the way - again, don't get cocky. If you Google this, it says to keep taking it once the OB occurs for a week to 10 days as directed. That is too much. Overkill in my opinion. But stopping once the blisters are gone? Not enough. I got cocky once and learned that the hard way. The blisters tried to make an encore presentation, so I started taking the pills again and this time I kept it up for 5 days, start to finish which is plenty, with a slight variation. Instead of taking 5 total a day after the blisters went away, I took either 3 a day or 2 before bedtime - not both. Worked out great. That was all during the time it took me to figure out not taking Vitamin D with D3 was messing me up. Since I started taking Vitamin D with D3 again, besides the peanut butter overdose, I have had no more OB. The peanut butter one was the worst I have had in some time. I knew better. At least the Cimetidine cleared it up in a couple of days. I don't understand why more studies have not been done with the Cimetidine. It's cheap, over the counter and works great. From what I have read (and the information is sadly limited) it suppresses the virus and puts it in remission immediately. I don't know if taking it every day would put it in permanent remission after a while and I can not recommend that because I am not a doctor and do not know what the long term effects would be. Short term use is apparently safe for heartburn sufferers, so I believe it to be for herpes sufferers. I should add that taking too much Vitamin D with D3 is not recommended. I am a small person and the 400 I.U. seems to work out well. I should further add I can't promise anyone their OB will be gone in 2 days if they take the Cimetidine as suggested, but that has been my experience. It really truly works like nothing I have ever tried and remember... I have tried everything! Crazy things!!!! I hope this helps someone else, many people if I have my way. Although I can't remember when I last had an OB, (it's been that long!!) I do remember it sucked. Even for those 2 short days. I hope someone has my same luck. By the way, my little self study has been going on for around 15 months, so I am pretty confident in my findings. I actually waited this long to post because I did not want to rush and give anyone bad advice or false hope. Also worth mentioning, I have been in a monogamous relationship for 4 years. We have never used condoms, (we discussed it; his informed decision) but abstain during OB. He is still herpes free, (I have him get tested every 6 months even though he says it doesn't matter) but we are extremely, extremely careful (I always know when I am getting an OB - 20+ years of experience)and.... he was already taking D with D3 when I met him because of a severe bone break. That may be a coincidence, but maybe it's keeping him from being infected. I anyone tries this, please post your results. Good luck!!!

Alcohol, caffeine, and soft drinks are some of the things that should be avoided if you have Genital Herpes. As well as peanut butter, nuts, chocolate, and anything containing bleached flour. Multi-vitamin supplements should be taken, lots of water should be drunk, and balance out your diet.

For Genital Herpes itching/burning/swelling/stinging/inflammation a good product is Herpeset. It's natural, and works really well and fast.

BHT in capsule form will cut your frequency of outbreaks quite a bit, 500mg/day
BHT/olive oil topicaly will stop an outbreak quickly and will prevnet one if you start applying it at the first tingle or even thought that something may be going on. Fill a small bottle, 4oz or so 2/3 full of BHT chrystals and fill almost to the top with olive oil, leave enough room to shake it to mix. Put the bottle in a sunny window or put it in a pan of hot tap water and shake occasionally(don't microwave or heat in a pan)When there is about 1/3 crystals you will have a saturated solution, use it then.
DMSO by itself has shown itself to inactivate herpes, mixed with antivirals it may be even better. I haven't mixed it with BHT but if you do only use a pin head of if directly on the sore, (don't apply liberaly, you may make a biiiiiig scab, BHT and DMSO both dissolve fat, lipids, a very important part of your cell structure and sometimes 99% DMSO causes a rash or crusting of the surface skin so use a 70% solition or make one with distilled water from 99%.
MSM, methylsulfonymethane has shown to be an anti herpes supliment and is avaliable easily from Walmart or nearly anywhere. It is used for joint maintenence for arthritis and injured joints but is used in topical preparation for shingles(herpes)and is also in fever blister meds(herpes)and probably is effective against all herpes if taken internally, it is safe and well tested, the other remedies above work but are not as heavily documented as the safety of MSM.
I'll check here and see if there are any comments, please post anything you know that does work, and GET PROACTIVE!
If you see someone with a fever blister take them aside and tell them how you got rid of yours. If they say 'I'm using tea tree oil.' Say 'Well, now that you know that that doesn't work, try these things.'
There is life after herpes, learn how to control it and not spread it to others. Talk about it openly, 1 of 4 of us has it, you may find that the love of your life has it and hasn't a clue how to get rid of it. Wouldn't you like to be the one to give them back their sex life?

First breakout a few days ago YAY! Anyways I have had breakouts all my life on my mouth until I tried the Tylenol and ice directly on the blister, works good if you catch it at first tingle, it wont even break out most of the time. works the same on the down stairs ones too. I only have problems with breakouts when im stressed or drink Alcohol, or too much sunshine. Its not a death sentence just a minor annoyance. It could be worse. I hope this remedy helps? It works for me ;)

I saw on another site to take hot baths in epson salt and to take L Lysine. I tried both and they both worked very well.

The hot espson salt bath is good for a break out. Fill your bath tub up with water as hot as you can stand it - pour some epson salt in the tub under the running water. Sit in the tub for at least 30 minutes and try to do this twice a day. It will feal the sore faster and take away a lot of the pain.

L-Lysine is a vitamin that you can buy over the counter. I paid about $3 for a bottle of 100 tablets!!! Follow the directions on your bottle but for mine I take once a day. I haven't had a break out since I started taking them!! It's amazing and so inezpensive. I recommend this to everyone.

I believe I got this from an ex boyfriend that I had for 6 months about 7 years ago. This is my 3rd flare up since that time.

This is what Im doing to see if it helps

1-I used a mortar and pestle to crush my pills - Lysine and Tylenol PM
2-Pored a small amount of apple cider vinegar into a bowl and mixed in the crushed pills
3-washed the area with anti bacterial soap
4-used my mixture on the area with a q-tip to clean it
5-let everything dry
6-used campho-phenique in the gel form not the liquid
7-braved a small swig of that apple cider vinegar (YUCK almost made me barf)
8-ate one of the lysine and a vitamin c... both 500mg

the whole process hurts a bit... stings... but immediately my 4 bumps got super white and hard as if they were drying out... they seemed to turn into one large hard lump instead of separate smaller ones

We will see if this works... but already the pain and itching feels better as I type this

I had an outbreak yesterday, I get very few, maybe one a year and have had it for about 15 years. I saw this site to tying to find a remedy.

I tried putting Ivarest on it, worked for the nasty poison ivy I had this summer. It dried up the blisters with two applications, one yesterday evening and one prior to bed. The relief from pain and itching was almost instant. Ivarest is inexpensive, less than $5 at Walmart. Did it work or am I lucky as Hell?

I would be interested if anyone else tries it to see if it helped.

I just wanted to add something new.

My husband gave me herpes. I knew he had it when we started dating. I loved him with my whole being and quite frankly, would rather have him and herpes than live herpes free forever.

So, it was my choice. I don't like having it. It can be painful.

Two tips:

1.) For women, when peeing is traumatic, as it often can be, get a toilet top sitz bath (you can get them for like five bucks at the pharmacy) and at every pee, fill it with very warm water and pee into the sitz bath. It is the single best thing I've come up with to treat the single worst thing about the disease.

2.) I like to keep things simple. Eat the right foods. I don't take meds. When I have an OB, I apply manuka honey. It works FAST. So insanley fast. I've tried most everything and nothing works this quickly.

I am a 32 year old woman who is married to a 33 year old man with GH. I remember the day he told me, he was so afraid I was going to walk right out on him! I understand why some people can't deal, but it is truly not the end of the world! My husband and I have a wonderful and healthy sex life, but we are very careful and never have sex when he even feels like an outbreak is coming on. Because of that, I have NOT contracted it. If I do, I know that it will be okay, because my husband loves me no matter what. Thank you for the helpful hints. Valtrex gets a little expensive, even with insurance! But, for those of you who feel like life will never be the same, I promise you it does get better. My husband found out he had GH on his 21st birthday! We have been together for almost 8 years, and I still do not have it. We don't use condoms, since I'm on the pill. But, we abstain from sex any time he finds even the tiniest red bump, just in case. I hope this will help some of you to know that there are people out there who will love you no matter what. Herpes is NOT a dealbreaker, unless you're an uneducated jerk!

I have been suffering from GH since I was a 15 year old little girl. So for 15 years now I have had to deal with something that is no ones fault! It happened and there is no changing the course of events that led up to it either. My first outbreak was so severe as many of you will know and understand..and I ended up being hospitalized due to severe dehydration, as I was so scared to drink anything, cause the pain when I peed was so extreme. I ended up getting a cathader put in to help with the pain when i urinated. This is an extreme case I guess, as I have never heard of anyone else being hospitalized with herpes! I have come to realize in the last 15 years that we are not alone, and should not feel ashamed about a skin infection. The stigma that surrounds people with an infection like this is terrible, but remember 1 in 4 people have the herpes simplex virus. It affects more people then you think. I know it may be hard for some of you out there who are new suffers to this virus...but if I can pass on any wisdom to you,it is this 'always tell your partner that you have herpes' People respect the fact that you care about them enough to try and protect them, and they will only love you more for your honesty! Your life is not over, and neither is your sexual life! Protecting others is the number one way to prevent this infections from being so prevalent in our society! Your not dirty, and your not diseased. Do we look at the common cold or flu sufferers in such a way? No we dont, but in all reality its a virus that made them sick also! Hold your head up and educate yourself, to protect yourself and your partner! In my opinion, based on years over reaccurent OB, the best possible thing is keep your immune system strong, and your body healthy. Drink PLENTY OF WATER, as your urine can become very acidic and makes peeing harder and more painful. The reccomnded sits baths kind of defeat the purpose, as we want or OB to dry up, and go away! Aviod moisture to the area, and after you have a shower or pee use a fan if at all possible to further dry it out! But keeping the area dry and clean is key! If your home environment allows it, be naked as much as possible cause the air is your best friend! For woman avoid tampons, as they cause reacurent outbreaks, and no thong underwear...both cause a lot of friction and an OB will ensue! White Cotton panties are best as it allows skin to breath. I believe vitamin C, and E are great helps, as Vitamin C helps to shorten the duration of an OB, and Vitamin E help to aid the skin in healing. Tee tree oil is a good option for drying out the sores but I would reccomend diluting it with water as it is a very strong antiseptic and might cause burning, again dry out the area after cleaning! Dont scratch!! Whatever you do as that will only open the sores up and cause infection to other areas of the body. Herpes can become reaccurant in the peri area, hands, face, eyes etc...mucus membranes are at a higher risk...so wash hands throughly after applying any treatments, ointments etc. Get plenty of rest, and avoid stress (easier said then done ) avoid long nights of partying and try and establish good sleep patterns...to help the immune system stay strong! Now here is another one for woman out there (sorry guys I speak from experience) this will sound crazy, but get a clove of raw garlic, and tie a piece of dental floss around it tightly, leaving a dangeling string much like a tampon, insert the garlic clove into the vagina and let it remain there over night (not to be done during an outbreak) This is a preventative measure to be done periodically, that I swear by as garlic has some of the most powerful anti-viral properties none to man, that beats any pharmacutical drug on the market. For the guys and girls...chop and swallow one garlic pearl, with water 2x daily to reap the in the healing properties! I promise it works! Take care of your bodies, and remember that your body is a temple..what ever you put in it (no pun intended) can have good or bad reactions, from drugs, to booze, pills, and processed, or high sugar foods. The more natural healthy lifestyle you can adopt will lead to less and less OB, and who knows...maybe one day you will be OB free as it can happen! One love, and keep your chin up, and your head held high...your just as normal as everyone else in this crazy world!
Cheers, J9 P.S-WEAR A CONDOM!! :)

I have had GH now for 7 years.. I know you are supposed to keep it dry but honestly the only thing I have found that works for me is a Lidocane ointment,it stings like hell first 5 seconds but after that,oh sweet release. It relieves the pain and sheilds it from my urine burning the hell out of it. Do not take a bath it can spread in the water!!!!!DO NOT use bleach like someone suggested. Keep yourself clean, let the area get as much air as possible, and WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!

I have been a TeeTree Oil user, happy with the results and the convience of being able to discreatly cary a little bottel with some q-tips in my bag for applying through the day.
I usualy only have one isolated area with one swelling spot. What ever I usually do keeps me from going into the full blister / eruption.
Tonight I was looking for something new because this is my first OB warning and swelling while I am mensturating.... MAJOR drag. So, tonight I have tried something new with the goal of better drying out and more calming relief b/c of the increased moisture 'down town'. I am not clear on the reason for the PM part of the asprin paste... so I used just a generic asprin(3) a drizel of water and corn starch. The consistancy was like the gooo in paper mache, just not sticky. I have instant relief from the irritating pad and flow... no plugs it's night time got to let the girl breath.
Use a new finger for each application so you can use the mix in the AM too.

I have type one-downstairs. The first outbreak is always the worst. I had mine 6 years ago and i still remember how HORRIBLE it was physically and emotionally. Unbearable. But since, I've only had two or three recurrences that have been almost undetectable. Little to no discomfort and barely any visible sign. It gets easier.

I was diagnosed about a month ago. It literally tore me apart. I was more afraid for my boyfriend then I was myself. He is very understanding and loving and I thank God he doesn't have it. I found hope and a lot of questions answered by getting a book about this terrible virus called 'Herpes Antidote' by Nathalie Foy.
Honest to God it answered a lot of my questions and gave me so much information about remedies, homeopathic drugs, supplements, Diet, where to get products for a GOOD low price and things to try so you don't transmit the virus to your loved one.

Your Diet is really important in prevention. Vitamin C, Neem *, cabbage, broccoli, sprouts, Garlic etc.. and herbal teas such as Licorice (HSV-1 especially), lemon Balm and Sage HELPED me a lot.

This book really gave me hope and I'm thankful that the author cares so much about her readers and their well being.

GIVE IT A TRY! I know what your going through and you don't need to be in your bathroom crushing pills and making paste. There are easier ways. Get YOUR LIFE BACK and read the book!

Hi, everyone. I recently got the virus from a guy who had a cold sore and I didn't know about it till it was too late. We had oral sex and that was all she wrote. Something else I want to let you know is, I asked the dr about the different types and they told me you can have 1 or 2 in the genital area as well as 1 or 2 as a cold sore. Most cases are of the 1 on the face as a cold sore and 2 as the genital area, but they told me that you can get either as either. Just thought I would share that with you. I'm not a dr, so I don't know. When I first got it my legs would hurt and after 8 weeks the pain stopped. I figure the virus had made it to all my nerve areas so that is why they stopped hurting. I didn't know what was going on. I had never been sore like that before. I got diagnosed in June, 2011. I wasn't sure what was going on, and being that I'm 50 years old, I felt really stupid. I have been so careful all these years. Now I am afraid to even have sex. The guy I got it from feels bad cause he didn't know he had it and wants to continue seeing me, but he left town. Through all of this ordeal, I have been doing a lot of research on homeopath and natural things to use because I don't have the money for medications and I have so much drama going on where I stay, it makes ob's practically round the clock. The stress is unbelievable and they could care less.

I also found out -- this from the website listed after it..:

What causes herpes to recur remains a medical mystery. However, there are several internal and external events that can trigger or wake-up the dormant herpesvirus. The triggers most commonly associated with recurrent herpes infections involve foods high in arginine (peanuts, chocolate, soy, sunflower seeds), exposure to strong sunlight, alcohol, menstruation, and physical and psychological stress.

healingdeva.com/herpes.htm

and that is something that could have caused this ob now, I was craving chocolate and ate 6 of those little bite size hersheys. I just found it out today, just before I found this website. The medication I was taking is harmful to your liver and can cause liver issues. I have taken the last pill I'm going to take unless it is a cure or homeopath. I have found that if you take Witch Hazel and put it on those cosmetic cotton pads that come in like 100 at the Dollar Tree for $1, and saturate the pad, then place it over the area where the ob is, it stings at first, but it is very soothing and you can sleep comfortably. I have also used the tea bags to try and help dry up the ob. I don't think they really worked and it was very uncomfortable. Had to go get pads and I have gone thru the change already. When I have to go to work, I use the witch hazel on a pad, just not saturated, and place it over the ob area. As it is, the ob is small enough area that I only need one pad.

I want to thank all of you who have been going through this longer than I have. You give me hope. :) I hope this helps anyone else that has this issue. God bless you all.

i am 17 years old and i just found out today that i have HSV2. i was devastated when i found out. i felt so alone. i noticed my first out break yesterday and thought maybe i cut myself shaving, never did i consider it to be HSV2. but after the pain and discomfort got worse and became unbearable i turned to the internet and after self-examining my sores, i quickly realized it had to be that. right away after work, i went to the walk-in clinic and the doctor, who thank god was female, took one look and said 'yep, that's herpes.' i felt so disgusted and ashamed. it took a lot for me to tell the guy i've been talking to lately the news i had found out and it turns out, he's had it as well, for two years. since i cannot get my valtrex prescription until tomorrow and the pain was even more unbearable, i, again, turned to the internet for help. i found out that i could use a type of aspirin, benadryl and vagisil as a paste. all i can say is i can actually sit comfortably without having to cringe. and after reading so many stories, i no longer feel so alone. thank you so much!!!!!

Sitting for five to ten minutes in a warm 'sitz' bath three or four times a day sometimes inactivates the sores and speeds up healing by drying out the sores. Prepare a 'sitz' bath by filling your bathtub with three to four inches of warm water, then add sea salt and a little bicarbonate soda.
The warm water brings circulation to the area, cleans and heals for positive results.

I was diagnosed with herpes in '09, but not sure which simplex I have. I took Valtrex once a day for a few months and no problems since the beginning of this year. I have no insurance so I can't afford the Valtrex, which I believe is the best medication for it. It's very expensive and you take it once a day; taking it for a full year greatly reduce your chances of an OB and decreases chances of transmission greatly. I think it's less than 1%. NOW, the most important message in this post is this: there is absolutely no cure for herpes; it is in your nervus system til you die. It can be on your butt and your upper thighs also, therefore; just wearing a condom ain't gonna do the job completely. Don't be afraid to LOOK/STARE at what you are letting to poke you or what you are about to poke. I would LOVE to tell y'all how I got itm but I'll just say this, I got it from my husband whom I was truly in love with. He's in the medical profession and ignorant about it or claims to be. NOW, on to my home remedy; try rosemary oil and tea tree oil at your own risk, both or essential oils. I drop about 5 drops of tea tree oil on bathroom counter and then add about 2 drops of rosemary oil and the mix with my finger and then apply to area. Now, I must mention this, I did use Zovirax cream until it ran out; the lesions were looking good and w/o redness, but I knew I still needed something to complete the process of eliminating the sores. I have no itching nor pain with the concoction at this time. You may not like the scent, but it's better than severe itching and pain. Most inportantly, please do not use the same towel to wash down there over the rest of your body and dry of with paper towels or a different towel until OB is gone. I'm sure you guys know this already, but if you see you kids buying condoms in stores, don't be afraid to tell them that condoms won't protect them from herpes and warts especially if they appear in places other than on the penis or in the vagina. The way I see it, having a baby would be the least of their problems. Oh yeah, hepatitist-c is just as horrible as HIV; it can live outside the body for more than 2 days on surfaces. People who die from that looks just like they're dying for AIDS. And there are a lot of celebrities with these diseases too. Sorry about the long post and use at your own risk and don't use too much of the rosemary; it has a potential to be very irritating to some. RESEARCH!

Hey guys! This site has been the best thing to ever happen to me. Thank you so much for forwarding your remedies. I have been take 1000mg of Lysine and it works! I feel like my pH levels have changed and I don't feel so uncomfortable anymore. It definitely helps to clear an outbreak a lot faster also. I have found that using Preparation H medicated wipes with witch hazel have also helped during outbreaks to soothe my skin and take away a lot of the irritation. Hope this helps.

I found out I have GH or HSV2. I found out literally 3 days ago, unofficially. But it is pretty obvious.
My story is that I often get bacterial vaginosis. Which I have now read that there may be some connection, so I am wondering if I have had it longer then I thought. Anyway, I decided to get checked out, just to make sure, which is was I sometimes do when I am having my BV symptoms. I went in to my dr with similar yet different symptoms then I usually have. (TMI) Drainage was different & this time I had abdominal pain. I also felt like crap, but no fever. Thought maybe it was because I got up super early that day. Dr examined me which was supppper sensitive & later told me my BV, yeast, & trich were negative. Great, I probably have something worse. She gave me meds anyway just in case while we wait for my gon/chlamydia results. Basically all week I noticed a 'cut' on my lower labia that I thought I got from shaving or something more intimate lol. Wasnt healing but I thought that was because every time I went to the bathroom I would just recut it... literally that night when I got home from school I knew something was wrong. It just didn't make sense that I hurt this bad. Everyday I have checked down there & haven't seen anything (nor did my dr apparently) but this time I really look. & I see a sore. I freak. I am devastated. I call my dr first thing in the am & tell her what is up. They call me in medications. Now it is day two & it has gotten worse. There are more sores & outbreaks. I am in a lot of pain but mostly when I got to the bathroom & cleanse. This sucks. I know the first outbreak is the worse.

My story is a little different because I knew the guy who gave it to me had it. He told me. Flat out. I knew he did. He is a nurse so I kind of trusted him in that sense. He takes his medications everyday, said he hasn't had an outbreak in awhile & we always used condoms. But once, the condom fell off so I wonder if it happened then. He was extremely sorry. But it still sucks.

I just want to get through this initial outbreak. I am taking my medications they gave me. I am still getting more I think & they are very active I should say. I need something smoothing to help for now. Any ideas?

I have read the aloe, baking soda, alcohol, etc. Which is best for the initial outbreak with semi open sores & least painful!?

When I learned that I had the Herpes virus II, I began researching natural remedies.( Note: I did not have outbreaks often enough to realize that I had this virus until 20 years later). Red Marine Algae (500 mg) has proven to me to make a difference. 3 to 4 a day keeps the outbreaks away or a least minimizes them. There was an incident when I had eaten a tremendous amount of peanuts (favorite snack) after I had began using Red Marine Algae. A day or two later, I had a very quiet and subdued outbreak. I had no warning symptoms that it was coming on. (tingling, itching, pain, muscle aches, etc.) As soon as the small sore came it was healing the next day. It was months later I learned that peanuts caused outbreaks and I have since stopped eating them. Had I not been taken the Red Marine Algae, this outbreak episode would have lasted me about 10 days.

I found out I had herpes about a month ago, two weeks before my 23rd birthday (April 2011). I was devastated, I still have no idea who gave it to me. I have taken my meds (Acyclovir) as directed, but haven't seemed to work. I will talk to my doctor at my next appointment. I decided I wanted to have sex but had a few breakouts and so I figured I would put New Skin Liquid Bandage on them, within a few hours they shrunk. I didn't have sex until after they were healed and used protection, what I failed to do in the past. Just do not put the New Skin on open sores, it will burn like hell. Hope this helps. I have also used Tea Tree Oil and take Korean Panax Ginseng to help with stress. I'm a big time stresser, probably why I stay broken out. But Tea Tree Oil helps with shrinking breakouts.

Ive had herpes for 10 months now, and unfortunatly I have a Very weak immune system, and I cant prevent OB's, I get them on average once or twice every two months. But what has worked the best for me to get rid of it when its does happen is, Apply hydrogen Peroxide 3% to sores with a cotton make-up applicator for 5 min. 3x a day untill the sore scabs and starts to fade then apply 1x a day. Let the hydrogen peroxide air dry then apply Baby Powder to keep area dry, its non-irritating, the a Aloe vera baby powder is best. I take Potassium (it supports your nervous system) 2,000 mg of L-Lysine, 1,500 mg of vitamin C, Calcium/ Vitamin D, Vitamin B complex, Folic Acid, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, and a Hair/Nail/Skin vitamin 3x daily. Eat lots of fruits and vegtables, do not eat peanutbutter, or chicken (chicken has been proven to increase pain sensitivity in the body) DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL OR TAKE ANY HARD DRUGS SUCH AS EXTACY, UPPERS, EXCT. These kinds of Drugs are VERY hard on your immune system and should be cut out of your life COMPLETELY. The only drug i would say is okay are Opiates to RELIEVE YOUR PAIN. In small amounts when necessary for pain it is not hard on your immune system. (Hey don't hate that im mentioning drugs, its better for someone to find out those kinds are bad on here, than finding out themselves and having a really bad OB because of a lack of knowledge)

I dont have a remedy. I was actually looking for something to help with the knots that I usually get with an OB in my groin area. After reading over some of the responses about people who have just in diagnosed, let me tell you.. I thought at 19 it was the end of the world as well. I thought I couldn't have children, no one would want me, i was marked for life. I am now almost 28 years old.. a mother to a beautiful child who is free of this disease. I am not in a relationship, but my disease does not keep me from having a significant other. I understand there are some people on here who feel no one will want them. Let me tell you this, that is not the case. This virus is so common amongst people it is sad. Just look at the pages upon pages of people confessing that they have it. I have told my partners that I have it along the years, giving them the choice on what they want to do.. I have ran into a couple of people who already had it or had a partner that had it. Others just dont care because they care about you. Some times my outbreaks bother me... sometimes they dont. They are usually predictable. Sometimes I have to go without the medicines sometimes I have it. Over the years I learned to accept the fact that I was given this without a choice. Although I dont like having it I do not allow it to completely shut me down and make me not want to gt out there and either educate or continue to find love for myself. I can honestly say that the virus has never broken me up with a boyfriend. I forget I have it until it pops up... but I deal with it and keep moving.. For those of you who have just gotten this virus, trust me.. everything will be alright. You will make it through.. you are not tarnished.. you are still who you are.. a beautiful person.

I have had gh for 31 years now. After reading some of the posts on here I have to share the following with all of you- 1. Never, ever wipe what may be an outbreak area with anything! By doing that there is an extremely high chance of spreading it. 2. Never touch the area that is itching and especially if blisters are present. 3. Change your diet. No diet drinks. No Aspartame. Learn what foods contain higher amounts of Arg. and stay away from them as much as possible. 4. Take Lysine supplements and vitamins daily. 5. Get plenty of rest. 6. Keep your immune system up. 7. Do not use creams of any kind on the sores. Once they get warm and start to liquify the virus may travel with it and spread. 8. At night, wear boxers (guys and girls) and then some pajama bottoms cut off right above the knees. This will allow some air flow. 9. Do not lay under heavy covers so that you don't sweat in that area. 10. No matter how horny you get, and it seems that during outbreaks, I get horny. Resist the urge to masturbate. Having sex and masturbating does cause stress on your body and during that time your immune system is already down. (I'm not saying anyone here would be thoughtless enough to have sex during an outbreak. Of course you would probably respond by saying that's how you got it in the first place. There are some stupid people in this world and don't give a crap but there are much more people that do not know they are having an outbreak, have sex, and a couple of days later they break out.) 12. I have been taking BHT for 30 years. Not so much since Valtrex came out but up until then I took it daily. It seemed to help. 13. Get on a daily preventative dose of Valtrex from your doctor. It is now in generic so it's very affordable. 14. Do not over do it with Valtrex. Take as directed. It can take it's toll on your kidneys and liver.

If it makes you feel any better, my doctor told me that 40% of her patients suffered from Herpes. That is in 1 office, in one city, out of all the thousand's of doctor's offices in this country. You are not alone. Don't think you will never find anyone that will love you if they find out. Of course tell them before you get too far into the relationship if possible. If dating, be responsible and restrain from sex if you think there is a chance you may be breaking out. No need to tell your life's history to everyone you go on a first date with.

I hope this helps someone. I really believe in home remedies as well as taking Valtrex. If you cannot take Valtrex due to health problems then carefully reserach home remedies and use common sense.

I will swear by the Tylenol PM remedy. I am a college student and got genital HS-1 from my boyfriend (he had an hs-1 cold sore on his mouth...I know it's really stupid of us. They don't teach you these things in school, haha). It's my first outbreak ever in my life and this is currently day 5. At first I thought I had cut myself shaving... surprise!

Anyway, tried the remedy and it's AMAZING. I might have done the actual mixing wrong though. I know the first post said use a blender but it wouldn't work so I just got a few Tylenol, let it sit in a little water until they were moist enough to mash up, then added the Abreva and a bit of cloves. Make sure to clean up the area first as best as you can and don't dip a used Q-tip in the paste. It will sting at first but it's well worth the pain for a day of relief. Better yet, I only put it on a couple of hours ago and it looks a ton better down there already!

It's a little expensive overall, but it makes a lot and it's worth it when you have to walk across campus all day.

For those with chronic cold sores, consider having blood work for an autoimmune disorder, like Hypothyroidism/Hashimotos. I've gotten cold sores all my life and wasn't diagnosed with Hypo/Hashi until in my 40's. Now that I'm on medication for the failing thyroid, I get a lot fewer cold sores. I know that isn't a home remedy, but consider that there may be an underlying disorder causing the cold sores as well.

Just wanted to say the Herpes remedy of..
Mixing
Abreva
cloves
Tylenol pm capsules.

Really worked for me... someone here on home-remedies recommend it.. I tried it.

you just mix, Abreva, cloves and Tylenol or Advil in small blender then add a few drops water to make a paste. then transfer paste into a small container. I put the paste on and immediately felt better. it stung a little yet it goes away. and you'll feel a good sensation I leave it on for a few hours and overnight if you like. either way it feels good.
also taking 3-4 100mg of L-Lysine a day for about a week. helps destroy the virus for good. well close to it, its suppose tp lower the levels of the virus. this lady here on myhomedies wrote that it removed hers permantly.
We all have our speculations of course yet trying it could help lower the virus.
also when I researched herpes on wikapedia, theres a micrbicide gel for woman called vivagel it's an antiviral lowers the shedding time. I tried to get it as a prescription yet my insurance didnt accept it. I might just buy it or get better insurance. or find something close to it at cvs, and femine wash and vagasil are also good. wikipedia has much usful information and goes into great detail about it. therapies like laser therapy, topical creams citis, vivgel, ozonated therapy, other alternative therapies such as baths with epsom salt, tea tree, apple cidar vinegar, before bath inserting garlic into the vagina while bathing is a good remedy also. black tea, douching with hydrogen peroxide, kidney, liver, colon cleanses.
and more..ok hope you heal from head to toe... tah,tah...

It around $10. I sprayed few times a day and after 24 hrs the sores are dried up still the area is red but no pain. I think this works for me. May be someone should try this and keep me informed if it can stabilise outbreak at the early stages.

I'm loading up on GARLIC,L-lysine,comfrey, epsom salt baths the whole nine. yet I need this thing completly gone. there are cure for it. taking 4x of L-lysine is a good cure, have the L-lysine mixed with olive leaf, astralugus, by a company called Quantum, then I try the parasite formula, and vitamin c powder, along with my homeopaths doctor blend of green formula with everytype of herb from alfalfa, sea moss, bladderwra dulfe, spirulina, chlorelia, watercress, wheat germ, broccoli, kale, marshmellow root, pau d arco, black walnut, chaparral, sage, ect the list goes on with the green formula. When I read about the article it was in the Times magazine, it was a few years ago. and its packed away somewhere yet maybe somelike a scietist or herbologist or someone with a vast knowlede of Banyan root could help. I dont want to go blind beacause the bumps are sourrounding my eyes. I now wash my eye brows with pure castle organic soap, and perozide. yet I'm thinking of just using the peroxide till it clears up. since I already have herpes when I scratched my vaginia my eyebrow itch so I naturally scratched it not aware of the transfer of skin shed from my vasgina to my eyebrows. I really need relief no one really cares ok I'm feeling a little sorry for my self but I'll try to be strong ok?
I'll keep going the herbs, and this herb called Chaparral that I listed above seems to help a little. I swallow the herb by tablespoon, its horrible tasting, its an old native american herb around for ever. trick to taking it, I put water in my mouth the drop the tablespoon of herb then it dissloves the herb for easy swallowing.
when I read about herpes from wikiepdia if you scroll to the bottom under research there is eventualy info about this drug from Duke Univercity developed called Antagomir, that suppose to kill the virus completly.
under that is information about a drug called Vironova AB, made from a private company in sweden, its also suppose to kill the virus. yet I wrote to the company and sent many emails asking for a sample with no response. at all...

Is there anyone that can give me samples of any of those drugs especially the
1. Aciclovir, pill form and topical.

2. Vironova AB.from swededn

3. Antamagomir,Duke Univercity
drug.
or any of the other following
drugs in sample for at least 7 days or more. I would shine like the sun. I dont have good enough insurance to cover the cost I fugured maybe samples might be the best option for me I'll pay shipping and handling I just need the medicine for me to get better. othe fors of medicin from wikepedi to help herpes put breaks are Ibuprofen or tylonol pm, or acetaminophen mixed into a paste while adding ground up ginger and abriva I havnt tried adding the cloves or abriva yet I think I'll try it. theres also prilocaine, lidocaine, tetraccaine, aciclovir, valaciclovir, fanciclovir, penciclover(topical) and pill form. and docosanol over the counter. I havnt tried that yet I just spent my last few dollars on the other pills. the garlic and, L-lysine mixed with candida cleanse, and digestion, tabs and neem oil. that I'm taking back because I read oils areent good. it must be dried out. then I read about ozonated water therapy. I'm saving for a machine. yet if you know someone selling one that I could make payments to that would be nice.

I read about the therapies all of them sound good yet I feel that it can herpes can be erased from the body. I was raped by someone who had herpes. I'm in therpy it helps yet I think the only thing to trully help is to remove it from my body all together. from a careless mistake could cost me losing my vision. yet if I keep taking mega doses of the L-lysine and other herbs it's helping yet I'd like it gone forever and ever and ever and ever..

if you can send me samples and info
to my email skygodess003@yahoo.com
by the way thank you from my heart.

I have GH. Valtrex does not work on me what so ever. I took it for 3 months 500mg 2x a day, and it only made me sick. Outbreaks would happen every two weeks. I have been bathing in a tub of warm water with 3 bottles of regular 3% hydrogen peroxide, and it takes care of redness and bumps by next morning. $3 H202 vs. $240 Valtrex. Hope this helps someone out there.

Ok..look up quickclear..it works..no outbreaks for months, they say a cure, not a 100 percent sure,..another solution is to drink water with high PH levels. You can get this at whole foods or other health food stores..Your body is 70 percent water and bottled water, tap water etc is just keeping your body sick. Get akalized water and high Ph Levels usually above 8..another remedy I just heard of is BHT. I havent tried it, Im doing great, but you can do your research as well. Well wishes to you all.

I had been suffering from excruciating attacks of genital herpes regularly for decades before I identified the problem. Also from oral herpes since early childhood. A colleague of mine, who is specialized in Chinese medicine, told me that these conditions result from deficient spleen energy. He advised me that they could be redeemed by eating plenty of radishes and eliminating peanuts from my diet. Since when not one more outbreak, upstairs or down. May he be forever blessed !

Hi everybody. I had my first OB last week and I am frantic. I hope it's not hsv-2, I will be tested next week. Meanwhile I had my period as well and the pain now is unbelievable. The crazy part is that I had almost always protected sex, but not protected oral sex.
I found that green teabag can cool off for a little bit, but the best is TOPICAINE, a numb gel. It burns at first, but then it really ease the pain for a while.
Regarding sleeping at night I will give a try to tylenol pm that seems everybody uses with good results.
I hope to stay strong enough to make it and be able to get rid of this virus trough controlling emotions, stress and lifestyle. I think that's the key. I wish Good luck to everybody.

I can't believe it took me so long to find out about bleach! I have had Herpes for 15 years and do not take anything because it cost too much money. I put bleach on it with a cue tip and almost instantly I am on track to healing!
Application of bleach to affected areas during periods of outbreak has been heralded as an effective home remedy for herpes symptoms. The most common recommendation is to wash the area with diluted chlorine bleach. This is believed to kill the virus on the skin, rendering it impotent for the moment and relieving symptoms. Scientifically, a study published on pubmed in 1988 by W.S. Croughan and A.M. Behbehani from the University of Kansas Medical Center demonstrated that an application of bleach for 10 minutes could render the virus inactive.

I'm a woman and this is what works for me: to help prevent outbreaks, I always use a blow dryer to dry my private area. Just make sure it's not too hot for you. When I feel an outbreak coming, I blow dry frequently throughout the day and use cornstarch. It really helps lessen the pain if you keep the area dry. I also take frequent baths with epsom salt. This is very soothing and then I blow dry. Also do not wear any tight fitting clothes during an outbreak - this tends to irritate the sores.

Some people reccomend using lemon or even taking a bath in bleach, but I think this would be extremely painful and should be avoided. Try the cornstarch - it doesn't hurt.

Just the other day I began feeling and OB coming, when out of desperation I happen to look on the web for a home remedy for Herpes and came across this web site. After reading several post, I noticed several people trying Tylenol PM and Abreva. I went out to Walmart and bought it, and long and behold it worked. The OB was gone! Readers may asked how do you make the paste? Take one pill, crush it, then add about 2 drops of hot water. Mix it until it becomes a PASTE, then apply to affected area right before bedtime. I also mixed a small amount of Abreva to the paste. IT WORKS!!!! Mind you I bought the generic brand of Tylenol PM It has the same ingredients. Good Luck to all who reads this. Just want to thank 'MY HOME REMEDIES' for this site, and for the people who contributed in giving their input.

I am 17 about to turn 18 and a college student. I'm a freshman and the whole college life is a stress fest. I am in a relationship with an older guy and he gets cold sores. We had oral sex but he wasn't having an outbreak so we didn't think anything was harmful about it.WRONG!!! Over the previous weekend I shaved and immediately after I felt alot of irritation which I thought came from me shaving then I noticed what looked like a little cut a day later. By this Monday I was ignorantly having my first outbreak. I have previously been hospitalized for major over stressing(asthmatic so dangerous to stress). I went to the doctor Tuesday and he told me that it was probably Herpes II. Naturally as a teenager dealing with stress and hormones I cried which might I add made my outbreak jump to an all time hell!!!! At first wen I noticed the sores I put peroxide and Triple Antibiotics on it and peroxide which didn't do anything for me except make everything look horrible. I kept using the Triple Antibiotics and petroleum jelly to help stop burning when I urinated but it barely worked. I started doing research and learned that I helped my outbreak spread and get worse. So I ended up coming across this site and I feel way better. I have been crying my eyes out(learned to stop that one). I feel alone sometimes and I feel disgusting. I try to clean the puss out as much as possible but lately the pain is becoming to intense!!! I haven't drunken anything in the past 2 days because I'm terrified of urinating. But all this isn't the worse of my problems besides this virus my dr called me yesterday morning and told me I had a bacterial and yeast infection. Now I'm taking Valtrex and some other medicines. Pain pills don't help. I have cream for the yeast infection that I have to use at night time only and that shit burns like the deepest pits of hell. I couldn't move for 3 hours. I am now taking Vitamin E pills;I busted them and applied it but it only worked until I had to use that cream. SO now I'm back on here looking for some help. I see that the Tylenol PM thing is a hit so I'm bout to try it. Everybody on this page has made me feel like I can do this.I feel like this thing has control over my life right now but I hope to soon flip it. Thank Everybody on here for their wonderful advice. Also the guy that I got it from is 100% behind me and is very helpful with the situation. He said if he has it then it changes nothing about us and that really shows me that even with this there is still a life for me. So to anybody that is having their first outbreak and you feel all hope is lost remember that with support, faith, prayer, and this website your life won't be hell all the time. I hope this Tylenol helps because I haven't shut my eyes in a full 24 hrs and I'm so tired.

I have had herpes for 10 yrs now. My obs vary. SOmetimes I can get one every 6 mos and sometimes they are every so many weeks. The med acyclovir I usually try to begin to take as soon as I feel the itch. The drawback to meds is usually you still suffer for days. Mine always occurs in the same place at the top of my vagina in the hairline. I found this forum just yesterday during the blister stage of my ob. Pain I tell you. So someone suggested New skin liquid bandaid. I usually use neosporin to help me thru the obs but it wasnt enough this time. I took a bath and shaved my vagina (read that here too), cleaned myself with anit-bac soap, dried with a hair dryer and blotting. I then applied the new skin. I dried it and reapplied. Instantly I felt relief from the pain. Don't know why on that. Here it is the next day. I woke and it wasnt completely gone but it was well on its way. I also have decided its essential to improve my immune system. I recently had a surgery and have been hit with ob twice in 2 mos. Sleep is my serious trigger. If I lose so much sleep I get run down then an ob is inevitable. I have been able to have one child vaginally since contracting herpes. Although my pregnancy was pretty tough. Use this liquid band aid. After 10 yrs of having this I am proud to have found an easier way to help the process. Herpes isnt the end of the world but damn its uncomfortable.

I take a homeopathic remedy called sepia that you can often get at natural foods stores. I take in in 30C strength but probably any of them would work. It greatly reduces the severity and duration of outbreaks, maybe only 2 days or so. Please do a little research on how to use homeopathics - they are very safe and effective but learn how they work and how to store and use them for maximum effectiveness.

Today I tried the Tylenol paste that someone recommended and I have to say 'yee haw'. I was in excrutiating pain with this breakout. I made a paste and applied and it did not burn at all and now the pain is absolutely gone! I have had breakouts for for almost 30 years and wish I had known about this sooner. I have taken Valtrex for years as a suppressant but I still get breakouts every once in a while. Another thing I use is Domeboro which is an aluminum acetate astringent solution. It comes in a box of 12 powder packets for around $15 and you can get it over the counter. Add a little warm water to a juice glass and dip a cotton ball. Then you can apply the cotton ball to the affected area. Discard cotton ball. You can reuse the solution for additional applications throughout the day but always use a new clean cotton ball before dipping in the solution. This works great if you are home for the day or you can apply it before you go to bed.

I was just diagnosed with this disease about 8 months ago. My first outbreak was the worst pain ever I couldnt walk or use the restroom or even move for that matter!
I am currently having symptoms of an outbreak and i can honestly say i dont know why i chose to use these products but they really work.
Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking soda, and Lidocaine Ointment it works great for about 12 hours.
But the way this works
first use the Hydrogen Peroxide to cleans the vagina after cleaning the vagina leave the Peroxide on wet a cotton ball and dab it in the baking soda (ONLY ONCE) rub this on the vagina it will burn a little, lay under a fan with this on for about 5 mins once it starts burning to where you cant take it any more use a clean towel to wipe the baking soda and any extra peroxide off, once that is done use the lidocaine to stop the burning...
SYMPTOM FREE FOR ABOUT 12 HOURS

Heyyy ! Im 18 and got herpes from my ex about a year ago. I don't really have BO's that often but when i do they are bad ! I don't like taking Valtrex because when you miss ONE day you have a BO so i did some research and found a lot of people using Tea Tree Oil . I LOVE IT ! i got some from Walmart for$8 and some more at CVS for $8.99. My OB's were usually about 2 1/2 weeks long but with the Tree Oil and only taking Valtrex when i broke out they were only 4 days . All i did was shower and use Dial Antibacterial soap ( the foam so i could just pump it right on there *it burns a little8 ) then use hydrogen peroxide 3% and clean it when i got out , then but a tree oil on with a cotton swap ( it gets really warm dose not hurt at all ) and i was good all day long ! No itchy feeling or burning !! THE BEST REMEDY EVER !!! hope i help someone out there !!! STAY STRONG EVERYONE ! -Meg :)

I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet- (TUCK PADS!) I'm 24 years old..and I just got back from the dr a few hours ago. I've been w/ my husband since I was 15. Married for 5 years and seperated for 2. During our 2 year seperation I had 1 partner and he's had 2. Neither one of us were tested and NOW 7 months later I'm having serious symptoms but we're not sure where/whom it came from. Needless to say I've been devasted. My soul feels crushed & hopeless. I've cried to the point of vommitting, I quit my job and drove all the way to california to be tested. (Small communities in utah are NOT very nice) now I'm waiting for the results in the 'hole' I've crawled into. -I don't feel I can cope w/ this everyday of my life. I know my husband loves me and he says we're in it together, but I'm scared that this is only goin to add onto the weight of our relationship obstacles. . . . . .I'm on here looking for help emotionally, and it feels good to know you're not the only one. I do have this advice so far...a midwife/dr. Told me to try TUCK PADS for the pain & blisters 'sticking' to my panties. GUESS WHAT? THEY'RE WORKING! You can find them at walgreens in the first aide section near the hemroid cream...they have witchhazel on them which DOESN'T BURN! And they're an astrigent so even though they're moist and cool, they're still drying out the blisters and they're sanitary. PLUS I just started the virusmeds & lysine. Only time will tell what's happens now- but for the immediate pain relief I strongly recommend tuck pads & ib 800... btw, the pads are for hemroids & women after childbirth.

I don't have any remedies really but I can give some advise..

1. Take many baths! It will ease your pain, use Epsom salt if you have it

2. If it hurts to urinate, do so in a warm bath (gross, I know but a dr recommended it to me and it helps)

3. Valtrex works amazingly, but it's expensive.

I got the virus when I was a senior in high school. I'm almost 20 now. Anyways. I know it's rough. And for you younger girls. Please please do not beat yourself up over this. You're not gross. It is not the end of the world. It took me a while to convince myself of that. I've dated two boys since I got the virus. I will be honest with you, I had sex with them and didn't tell them until afterwords. And neither of them left me for it or thought I was nasty. You do not need to tell everyone you date that you have it unless you just want to. You are not required. People don't always understand my thinking..but I didn't ask for this virus. I don't wish it on anyone!! But I don't believe I don't deserve to be happy or in a relationship because of this.

Do not try and ruin someone's life with it! I'm not at all advising that. Just look out for yourself. You cannot trust everyone with 'your secret'. And please, don't trust anyone besides your family to not tell. Not even your best friend since birth.

Goodluck! God bless you all.

STOP CRUSHIN PILLS & MAKING PASTES! Don't burn yourself with harsh chemicals, and stay away from anything oil based (oil base will just spread your sores!) -see your dr. and get on Valtrex. There is NO CURE so stay away from anyone/ any product/ or anything that claims to be it. Although there is no cure, there is HOPE. You can control your ob AND your life is FAR FAR from over! 1 in every 4 ppl has the herpes virus....it's just nobody talks about. Take Lysine daily (1,000 mg) and (3,000 mg) during an ob. Lysine counter acts what the virus needs to reproduce. CONTROL you're stress as much as possible. Take a multivitamin if you're like me and aren't the most 'healthiest eater'....during an outbreak, wear loose fitting cotton clothes. And the BE very CLEAN, try not to spread it by touching it! NO SEX during an ob & BE CAREFUL NOT to spread it to others as well! The sooner the blisters dry out, the faster you're ob will clear. You can use an astrigent but use a 'nice' one like witchhazel NOT bleach, NOT peroxide, and NOT alcohol! Why put yourself through MORE pain- right? I know everyone here is trying to help, but in desperate times...ppl turn to desperate measures, and sometimes make things worse rather then better. Your life isn't over....the minute your ob is gone you'll start feeling like yourself again and although you're always conscious of a tiny 'tingle' it will be the last thing on your mind! Good Luck and Best Wishes. We don't live in a perfect world- obviously! But that doesn't mean you can't live!

Hello all, I thanked God for the day I found this site. I have not yet been diagnosed with herpes, but I have all the symptoms. I was forced into unprotected sex with someone I was dating, it was very painful as he is larger than normal and I hadn't been sexually active for a while. I thought I could trust him so I didn't worry too much for the first few days, the third day after I noticed I felt sore and had a perennial laceration and a yeast infection. I saught medical attention and was prescribed antibiotics and a cream and advised to do the sitz bath twice a day and after each bowel action. I am a nurse so based on my knowledge I had already been doing sitz baths. On the 5th day I noticed the lymph nodes in my groin began to swell. This alarmed me because that is a key sign of a STI. I asked him if he had anything he wanted to tell me like symptoms or anything of that sort, soon after her revealed that he had unprotected sex with a gurl a month before me. I was soo shocked, afraid, angry, riddled with emotions. Anyway, I then noticed large bumps (about 3) on my labia majora. They were painless and hard, 2 days later they became sore n raw and appeared to be canchre sores. They became more numerous and burned and stinged a whole lot. I went to the STI clinic and was told by the family nurse practitioner that it looked like genital herpes and I would have to do a blood test to confirm, but I would be treated for It just the same so I was placed on Acyclovir 200mg 5times daily. At first I took it lightly because I had already suspected that diagnosis so I told myself it was herpes as a means of coping, so a positive diagnosis wouldn't shock me. A day later I broke down into a spiral of depression as the pain became worse n worse, and nothing I did would alleviate it. I tried panadol 500mg, Voltaren 50mg, Arcoxia 60mg, I even tried emla cream and nothing helped. I was afraid of overdose. I have not yet received my result but I have already stared to cope with the GH diagnosis, so discovering it is something else would just be a relief. After finding this site I got the idea of making a paste, I had been walking wide and with a limp before and was at first afraid to try it but the pain and the discomfort and anticipating the questions at work I figured it had nothing to lose. So
1. Get 500mg panadol and 200mg Acvlcovir
2. Crush it
3. Mix some zinc oxide and emla and add the powder and make a paste
4. Apply generously to the sores after doing your sitz bath and drying with a blow dryer.
5. Enjoy the relief
I don't know if this will work for you, but the instant relief I felt made me cry as the pain stopped me from functioning
Mentally dealing with an STI is ok for me as I know 1 in 5 people have it and do not know, and I work with patients with these diseases every day. I never once thought I was immune as regardless of being forced, I took a huge risk.
All the best to u all, and please remember you are not dirty, you are all still beautiful, take this a lesson to be safer then next time, this condition only requires a mild adjustment of your life, so live it to the fullest just the same. <3

Hydrogen peroxide works the best in the general area that you most experience outbreaks. I use it daily and have been outbreak free for some time. Also up your immune boosters when you start to feel run-down. Product on the market now called AIRBORNE. Fizzy tabs chalked full of immune boosters. Easy to take.

Ok, so we all know that different remedies for Cold Sores / Herpes affect people differently. This is my method for being Cold Sore / Herpes FREE, no real outbreaks because you catch it and prevent it from going any further then tingling/swelling. It does take some investing of time and money, but its well worth it.

Stay Away From:
Artificial Sweeteners/High Sugar Foods
Caffeine - Coffee! Energy Drinks! SODA!
Alcohol !!!!!!! (A glass of dry wine here and there is fine, but anything more, your messing with trouble.)
*Any foods that make you have an OB, its different for all people, but some are just stubborn and choose to have salty chips/salsa, when they know it causes an OB. Just stop taking these foods completely, pretend you are allergic.

Daily intake:
*You can take this in the morning with breakfast or divide it during the day or just take it at night.
50 mg Zinc
100 mg L-lycine
50 mg Garlic
1000 mg Vitamin C Twice a day Morn/Night
2-3 Tbsp. Coconut Oil mixed in in warm/hot water with lemon juice and 1 Tbsp. of Manuka Honey (raw honey also works, but it has to be RAW). This can be divided into three times a day.
* A good dose of probiotics, something broad spectrum and that has to be refrigerated. Stay away from market brands, go for something of quality, it makes all the difference. There are many to choose from, take the time and find one that is right for you.

When you feel/see/can tell an OUT BREAK is coming on:

*1000 mg of L-lycine 3 times a day along with an extra 1000 mg of Vitamin C and 100 mg of Garlic tablets. Do this as a Break/Lunch/Din regimen. Only one extra dose of probiotics - at Morning&Night.

*Take a garlic clove piece, and slice into thin layers, holding between lips till burning stops. This can also be done with a lemon, interchanging holding... and disposing after about 10 min a piece. Between this wipe lips with alcohol prep pad with at least 70% alcohol.

*During the day lips should only be cared for with light amount of Aloe or a special L-Lycine chap-stick which can be bought at many health food/Vitamin shops as well as online.

*Make a paste from water/olive oil and Zinc (crushed or powdered) put it on the 'would be sores'/swollen area at night and sleep on it. This can be done during the day as well if you have the time.

*Get about 7 solid hours of sleep for three nights in a row when you feel an OB coming on. This is important.

*Wash all bed line, towels and underwear. Tooth brushes should be disinfected after every use until OB or pre-symptoms are over.

For genital OB - take long baths in tub, or just sit in a large plastic tub with 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar and a 1/4 cup of Coconut Oil. As long as you can. If your popping a squat in a plastic tub, get a book and change the water every 1/2 hr. - hourly. This can be done at night for a long period of time, or can also be done in the morning for a 1/2 hour-You can eat breakfast or even set yourself up to check emails. Ladies- this may seem extreme, but it works -TRUST, its safe, and what have you got to lose. Using a turkey baster- new and clean you can douche with Cup of Luke warm Water, 4 tbsp. Coconut Oil, 2 tbsp of Manuka Honey- Squeeze inside self like any other douche-very lightly, hold as long as possible and release. You don't have to 'rinse' because allowing the Coconut Oil and Honey to 'penetrate' is good. You can even modify a tampon by cutting the end of a large tampon off- bout a 1/2 inch, placing it back into the holder and filling the end space left by cutting the tampon with coconut oil and a LITTLE honey, placing inside and pushing into you. You can have it in for about 4 hours at a time. I wouldn't sleep with it but I would put it in when going to work and take it out a few hours into work. It will soak into you and the tampon. Coconut oil is also good for yeast, its all natural and you shouldn't feel uneasy about it.

During the day ladies/men - Make a Zinc Paste with coconut oil and a LITTLE Manuka Honey - Put on affected areas between legs, be generous. Men you may want to wear some tight boxer briefs-maybe even double up or invest in some tighty whiteys to go under boxer briefs to make sure this paste stays in place and doesn't get your clothing oily, ladies wear a long wide/full coverage panty liner-spread away and keep it contained. Although you do want to drink lots of fluids, doing this at work can be difficult. All I can say is drink what you can and hold it so bathroom trips are minimal. Ladies, you may want to make extra paste and put it in a baggy for re-application after wiping from bathroom trips. Bring an extra baggie to use as a glove/applicator so your hands stay free and your using something clean to put the paste on with.

This is very invasive, but so is an OB. I'd rather be preventive then do nothing and suffer. If you also have meds, take them as well. Everything helps.

I have used this remedy for my cold sores. It works great. As soon as you feel an outbreak, put a thin layer of yogurt on the infected area. let it dry. repeat after it starts to flake off about four hours Keep the area dry. Repeat as needed. Keeps the sore from increasing and arrests the growth immediately.

I have been using herbs for years and have had pretty good success. Here is a very good treatment for outbreaks. Warning: this is painful and should only be used briefly. Also (if you can find an herbalist to assist you). Because this remedy is so strong I will also state that you should repeat the remedy rather than leave it on for any long period of time. I have used it and have almost eliminated my outbreaks. I used to get them and they would last for a very long period of time. Back then there wasnt anything on the market so I developed a cure using garlic and golden seal. it worked but took a week of painful treatments. Now generally I do two treatments and within four days the sores are almost fully healed and don't reoccur in the same spot. One last warning use this cure sparingly I have never seen an herbal product react to unhealthy tissue quite so dramatically and painfully. I have placed this on an open sore and almost screamed in pain. It is something akin to using a lit match only it last a little longer. OK here it is. The product is called Black salve and its main ingredient is bloodroot. It seems to be almost drawn to abnormal tissue. If it is applied to normal tissue I have not seen it react. However, if applied to abnormal tissue it can react very very VERY fast. It seem to shut off the blood flow to it. Use very small amounts to start with and read as much as you can about it before BEFORE you use it. I have shared this info with other people and warned them and then they just run off and use it with out listening to me and one in particular got a pretty big hole in his face once the sore dropped out. luckily it healed up OK. upon first use , use a cotton swab and dab a pin head amount on what you want to treat. when it begin to tingle wash it off and wait until the next day to see the reaction. Less is more. If you didnt get enough reaction, reapply the same amount and leave it a little longer before washing it off. This stuff can scar so never take it for granted. OH, if you are have gum disease take a tiny amount and brush with it once a week and I think it will cure it. I have brushed with it but I dont have gum disease so I am not 100% on this. remember it seems to only react to abnormal tissue.

I soaked in epsom salt to draw the ooze from the blisters. Next I dabbed with a towel then place a paper towel over the surface of the OB. It felt much better than the towel and proved to be great for a thorough drying. I noticed shrinkage after my bath but I was still in pain. I proceeded to crush Tylenol PM into Abreva and Thank GOD with in about a minute, no pain! It absolutely works hands down.

God bless you all. This is tough to deal with but support communities like this one makes it more bearable. Stay encouraged and laugh laugh laugh b/c for us, crying is NOT an option. Remember no stress.

For the Most part I live a VERY healthy lifestyle, in the gym 6 days a week, I eat right and love life.
Im not a fan of doctors or medicine, I think it's all a scam (Do they really make money off curing people??)

I contracted Herpes from a guy I had been seeing almost a year ago(we always used protection, fyi), and of course he told me he never knew he had it.

My first OB was excruciating. I ended up taking Valtrex.. I refuse to take some prescription drug everyday for the rest of my life, God only knows the long term affects of that.

I have desperately been seeking an alternative for about a year now.
I've tried Tea Tree, L-lysine (orally and topically), Red Marine Algae (which i wasn't too consistant with)
I cut arginine from my aminos (I took it for body building) Started REALLY watching what I ate, cutting anything potentially stressful from my life (which can be hard with a 6 yr old daughter) I had read up on this 'Colloidal silver' but never stayed consistant.

I usually have my OBs around the time of my monthly cycle, I just got over an OB and two days later, my glands were swollen, the itch was indescribable, and sure enough the next day (yesterday) a little cluster had appeared.

The OB I just got over lasted a week. I was taking L-Lysine @ 6,000 mg spread out for 3xs a day.
I decided that wasnt working.
After doing some more reading I saw this 'Colloidal Silver' again.
So what the hell, right??

Yesterday I took 1 tsp 4 times on an empty stomach (mine is 30 ppm from vitamin shoppe) and I also applied it topically. I had a sore in my mouth and a cluster of blisters 'down town'

There was still some itching, but significantly reduced.. today I woke up to no mouth pain and a cluster of scabs with Normal Glands.

Supposedly it can take up to 4 days to feel benefits from this Colloidal Silver.. I encourage you to do your dudilligence and I hope it works as mircally for you as it did for me =)

I recently posted my herpes treatment story to PozGroup, COM and got a free month. Hope you will like it too:

Details of my condition:
I've had herpes since I was 20. I though my life was going to end. I started on Valtrex and soon realized that when I would take it, I seemed to have an outbreak every other month. When I didn't take it, I would have an outbreak maybe once a year. I found staying healthy, eating plenty of foods rich in antioxidents and staying away from stress is the best therapy for me.
Drugs I taken & Dosages:
Natural Lysene if it's really bad. Not sure of the dose, OTC medication.

Pour less then half a teaspoon of bleach in a small coffee mug. Use a Q-tip to absorb some bleach. Make sure that the Q-tip is NOT DRIPPING. Rub the Q-tip on your sore(s) even if it hurts. The bleach will make the sore bleed because bleach eats through skin. Do this untill you can't bear the pain then quit. Wash the area thoroughly with soap, pat dry. If its in your mouth rinse your mouth thoroughly for 5 minutes with NON SLS mouthwash. The sores will probably come back. Each bleach app will eat into the sore and reduce its vibrancy each time the sore pops up.

I read few of the notices on this web site when I got my second out break few days back on my upper pubis. I tried LAMISIL spray which is for Atheletes foot terbinafine HCI 10mg/g 15 ml spray bottle.
It around $10. I sprayed few times a day and after 24 hrs the sores are dried up still the area is red but no pain. I think this works for me. May be someone should try this and keep me informed if it can stabilise outbreak at the early stages.

About 6 days ago I had my first outbreak. I'm only 16 and haven't told my parents yet...reading some of these has made me feel like everything is going to be okay. I do feel disgusting and worthless...hopefully it'll work out in the end. I go to the doctor tomorrow...kinda hoping it's a miracle and not herpes.

Remember the 6 P's
Prior Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Preformance

Quit smoking, quit drinking, eat bulk fruit and veg, heaps of water and exercise to increase the oxygen your blood can carry. Also lose weight if you are over weight because the virus loves the acidity levels in the body that the fat creates, also get into meditation and deep breathing exercises, don't pay it off, putting more oxygen in the body creates hell for the virus also assists in losing body weight, 70% of all toxins are passed out through breathing. And get 35% food grade
Hydrogen peroxide to smash extra oxygen into the blood...

I'm a fit SOB my Ob consist of a small lump no pain just a little tingle on me shaft that is all. Keep it simple no need to complicate the remedies by mixing this and that.
There will be a cure one day, that will only happen if the pharmaceutical stop making money off the sick and share the love... Hopefully not the sort of love that gave me herpes, haha peace...

I had instant relief!!!!!! And on top of that it is practically gone after two days!!!! Im telling u this really works!!! Just make sure the sore is cleaned and completely dry then use a qtip and apply 'Pro Active Refining Mask' and make sure u allow that to dry before putting clothes on. It really works!!!!!

I thought I would post a 'home remedy'. I have done this repeatedly and it works EVERY TIME and the outbreak stops and clears up in less than 48 hours.

Don't get me wrong, you still have the sore that takes a few days to heal but the outbreak stops dead... I have no idea why this works but it does....

So if you really want the outbreak to stop, here is the 'magic' way to do it.

First dab alcohol on the spot several times a day. -This just helps dry it up/feel better but doesn't stop it...

Second, take Energy-C drink (www.energyc.com) at least 4 times a day. I usually do it for about 4 days total, just to be sure the outbreak doesn't come back...

That is it! For 10 bucks at Walmart, you can get the Energy-C packets (30 of them). I have done this several times and it ALWAYS goes away in under 48 hours (usually in 24). BTW, from reading the Enegry-C label, it seems to have almost the same ingredients as Air-born but a lot cheaper...

I have tried several of  herpes treatment and not have good result. I normally got cold sore at the side of my mouth that ends up scabbing over and taking about 10 days to heal. I found HSV Zero and had success with it. With HSV Zero it can be reduced to 3 days or sometimes less to heal. The product has lemon balm as the main ingredient.
