Comb olive oil through the dry parts of your hair, and towel dry. Put a towel on your pillow, and leave the oil on overnight. Shampoo it out in the morning. This worked well when I had no money for good conditioner. Olive oil is actually great for everything--skin, hair, nails--be careful with extra virgin, though, because it smells weird.

The best thing for your hair? Stop washing it! My best friend does hair and she washes her hair once to twice a week. I know it sounds youcky, especially for me who used to wash my hair nightly. But now I do it every 3 to 4 days. It takes a few days for your head to regulate the oil, but now it is so soft and healty, natrualy. If you use a lot of product like me, just go through the motion of washing your hair, minus the shampoo. Most styling product rinses out with water. I really mean it your hair will thank you!

if you use expensive products to strip gunk out of your hair your wasting your money buying extra shampoo.

a friend of mine is a beautician i called her for advice on the best product to strip my hair with. at the time i was using alot of products for straightning and blow drying and the products had built up on my hair and made it look greasy she said to take baking soda and mix it with your regular shampoo. works exactly the same and a whole lot cheaper than buying more products.

who knew that baking soda could be used for so much.. cleaning.. cooking.. your face.. hair.. hmm.. baking soda could take over the world lol.

This i straight from a stylist, just random things you can do to help your hair.

If you wear ponytails, dont use any small bands or anything with metal or you will notice the hair breaking where the band sits. I have pulled out too many rubber band or hair bands to see a ring of breakage there. Use cloth ties or dont wear it up all the time.

To prevent bleached hair from turning green in the pool, wet the hair with clean water first or put condition in the hair so that it soaks up something else first befor it hits the pool water

If you dont want to pay for expensive brand shampoos at your salon, stick to Dove products, they dont strip color as bad i find

Dont wash your hair every single day, you can rinse it with warm water, but only shampoo every other day or every third day.

Try to stay away from products with Alchohol, it will dry your hair.

Try to use products with sunblock or wear a hat outside, it will protect your hair from damage.

Ever notice one side of your head seems to grow hair faster? Its posible thats the side you sleep on most..stimulating the scalp causes good blood flow wich help the hair to grow.

Be easy on wet hair, it stretches more when wet and could cause breakage or brittle hair. Use a large tooth comb or brush, not a briste brush untill it is dry

And befor you even say it, I know I cant spell or type well, and what works for one wont always work for another, but in most cases this is good advice.

For a great hair treatment/conditioner try 1 egg yoke, 1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil, and 2-3 drops Vitamin E. Combine these, wet hair, mix combination into hair. Let set for 3-5 minutes, feels/looks/smell strange but it works so well. Wash out with shampoo.

Well if u have dry damaged hair or if you have died it also your hair starts breaking off and you end up with split ends..Also you lose your hairs elasticity and shine which makes your hair beautiful. Some of us even end up buyin real expensive products that somethimes don't work as well.So why not go to our kitchen and find some home remedies to nourish our hair??What I usually do at least once a week is get half of an avocado,1 tbl of olive oil, 2tbl of mayo, and egg yolk. You can put on a shower cap and wrap a towel on your head so it can capture the heat for an hour or more however you want to. Also when you get in the shower make sure you wash your hair with cold water so it can lock in all them follicules to get that actual shine..it works trust me(:

Hi! I have researched that eggs prevent hair loss and will make your hair shiny! I did try using eggs and it works like magic!
WARNING: My sister used it when she had wavy hair and it went completely STRAIGHT!! She tried ironing it for a minute but it just went straight after a minute! So if you like straight hair and shiny, keep reading!! ^_^

Get a bowl

Put 1 egg (or two, depends how thick or long your hair is).

Now put in 1 teaspoon of milk (or two)

Mix it till you can't see the milk.. if you know what I mean......

Apply onto your hair all over, especially the scalp part to replenish the natural oils; apply to the sides and the bottoms,

Leave on for 9 minutes. (If you leave it on for too long, your hair will break since the egg dries up after an hour!)

Rinse FIRST before shampoo and conditioner. Make sure to use lukewarm water or else you'll cook the egg!-I'm serious..

Now do your regular, shampoo and conditioner. To make your hair more shiny, after washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner, before you get out of the shower, rinse your hair with cool water. It doesn't have to be COLD ICECUBES WATER.
If you rinse your hair with cold water, it closes the cuticles and makes the hair close together. Plus, cold reflects the light easier and makes it appear shiny! :)

EXTRA TIPS: You can leave your hair blow-dried or air dry, I blowdry my hair since it makes it more shiny, but I let my hair take a break once in a while since heat is damaging to hair.
OH YES, I FORGOT... Brush or comb your hair BEFORE you put the eggs on! Also, use this treatment every week or month, it isn't true that if you use it too much, your hair will become oily! Your hair becomes oily because of your hormones not because of the eggs!

DETAILS FOR SHINY HAIR: The results of putting eggs and milk in your hair will make you feel happy inside, maybe people will compliment and say how shiny your hair is!! Also, I'M DEAD SERIOUS.. eggs got rid of my dandruff! So that proves that eggs replenish your dry scalp and make it shiny!

THANK YOU FOR READING MY TIPS OF HAIR CARE!! ^_^

Well i have golden colored hair and it sometimes gets oily if i dont wash it everyday. the oils arent good for my skin i dont think and makes me break out so i use vinegar and water mixed togethter after i shampoo. it locks in moisture if you rinse with cold water. also the vinegar gets rid of build up.

p.s. the smell of vinegar is strong when you put it on but is completely gone when it dries and you should let it air dry( no towel or anything just air dry). Good luck

Most home remedies don't work well on African American hair! But I've found that keeping a container of Real Mayo solution in the fridge and using it twice a month keeps my hair shiny, strong and smooth. I combine 1tsp on extra virgin olive oil, 1 egg yolk, 2-3 tbsp REAL mayo and 1 tsp lemon juice in a bowl and beat it with a fork until its smooth. Apply all over hair, paying special attention to roots. Leave on for about 30 minutes and shampoo with any Olive Oil shampoo (I recommend Organics Root Stimulator products). Adding the lemon juice is optional, but it helps keep my natural highlights shining!

Mix 3 teaspoons of olive oil, 4 teaspoons of coconut(or king coconut) oil and 2 teaspoons of vitamin e oil/oil from 3 vitamin e capsules in a bowl and apply on the scalp and on hair from root to tip. Massage the scalp starting from back of the head for 10 mins. Take a towel and soak it in warm water and sqeeze off the extra water. Then wrap it around your head making sure all your hair is covered. Remove it after 15 mins and stay for at least 2 hours before washing off with shampoo. If you have thick long hair shampoo twice. Then condition. Flip your hair down and apply conditioner using your fingers, working upwards from the ends. Dont ever apply conditioner on the scalp cuz this will give you dandruff/dry scalp..after washing off the conditioner use a soft towel on your hair softly before letting it air dry. You could finger in silicone oil or a leave on conditioner while your hair is damp. Do this twice a week and you will have wonderful, silky, shiny hair.

Soft and shining hair ..simple but the best tip:
Mix 3 parts of ANY HAIR CONDITIONER, 1 PART of HONEY and 1 part of ALMOND or SUNFLOWER or OLIVE oil. Mix it well. Set it for 5 minutes. Wet your hair and apply it all over your hair and keep it for 20-25 minutes. Rinse off with any shampoo.
This is the best moisturizer for dry and frizzy hair.
Also dont rub or pat your hair with towel. Either use a paper towel or an old T-shirt to dry your hair.

Take biotin. A great hair vitamin that works wonders is called Hair, Skin, & Nails Formula by GNC. There is usually buy one get one 50% off deals. It really works!

IF you straighten your hair every day, give it a break! Try letting it air dry or put it up one day without washing it.

This is coming from a cosmetologist.

For severely dry, frizzy hair blend 1 egg yolk, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (king coconut oil is the best if you can find) with 1 teaspoon of lemon/lime juice. Apply this on the hair and keep for 10 minutes before washing it off completely using cold water. After that shampoo and condition using cold water. Let your hair air dry after patting with a soft towel. Do this once in every two weeks. If your hair is severely dry and damaged while doing the above treatment, apply olive oil lavishly on your scalp and hair and keep for at least 3 hours once in every week and wash off with shampoo using cold water. Do this for 3 months you will be surprised at how beautiful, shiny and healthy your hair looks.

For soft hair use olive oil, it in crease shine too. All you have to do is 5 min before you shower pour a small amount olive oil in your hand and work threw hair, roots to tips. When you shower all you have to do is shampoo, and the oil is gone and your hair is left soft and shiny. (Sunflower or vegetable oil works also)
You could also not shower for a week and let your hair get really greasy, but do you really wanna do that...

I always add a pinch of baking soda to my shampoo whenever I wash my hair to keep it shiny, smooth and healthy. This is also useful for people who use a lot of products in their hair (I don't) because the baking soda removes product build up. Make sure you only use a small amount of baking soda, because if you use too much, it can dry out your hair. This works like a charm for me!

You have to mix the egg and olive oil message through out the hair and put a plastic cap on and let sit for 30 minutes then rinse with cold water then shampoo. I used a leave in detangler conditioner then style. My hair was very soft and very straight. The following week I used just one egg mixed it with tsp water and message on my hair after shampoo let sit for 5 minutes then rinse out with cool water. I used my same leave in detangler conditioner, I blow dry my hair then curl all over. I then comb down then wrap. The next morning I comb my hair down it was shiny and full of body.

Ok so
Take 1 banana, 2-3 teaspoon of olive oil (depending on hair length)and 4-5 teaspoon of milk
Now, add crush the banana from your hands or a spoon, then add it in a bowl. Add the olive oil and milk.Mix it well, try mixing the banana totally with the milk. (if not it doesn't matter except that you'll have to rub the banana bits in your hair) You can also add 1 egg yolk. (but i don't cuz it smells while you put it and its too much)
Comb your hair before applying.
Wait for 15-20 mins..if you add egg just wait for 10-15 mins
That's your personal conditioner!!!
Just rinse with lukewarm water first and then shampoo. After you are done bathing wash your hair with cold water.
Dont rub your hair with a towel as it creates frizz.
ENjoy..and thank you

Just take real mayonaise, enough to coat hair, and work into hair and scalp. Leave on for about 20 minutes then rinse and/or wash & style as usual. Do about once a month or as often as needed. This works wonders making soft and shiney hair.

To keep your hair from breaking, pour a bottle of beer into a frying pan. Over a moderate flame, simmer the beer until it is reduced to a thick syrup. Let this cool, and pour into a full bottle of shampoo. Shake thoroughly. Wash your hair with this shampoo as usual. The protein from the beer will keep your hair in good condition.

Go to JCPenney's and get a perm. Then buy a Bed Head or BioSilk product. I know you'd rather have homemade stuff, but this works for me.
Tips: Olive Oil helps with split ends.
Mayo helps with making your hair shiny and flawless.
Egg yolks give your hair style. (I think)
If you mix those ingredients together, it will make a super duper deep conditioner.

Here are two: This is the gentle one...seperate the egg yolks from alot of eggs, then put all the egg whites in yair hair-messy, but it will later stiff into BEAUTIFUL spikes. Another way is this...this the hard one-your can impale an apple through your hair with this recipe! Mix water with crushed, then put your hair in the mixture, and you will find clumps, that later stiffen in spikes. (the first choice is advised)

curly hair/ straight hair

For curly hair, just braid your hair. For crimped look, do smaller braids, for bigger curls, do big braids. Do this with wet hair before bedtime, and when you pull the braids out in the morning, your hair will be curled. Just spray lightly with hairspray after running finger combing it, and youre good to go.

To have straight hair, just get a paper bag, and an iron. Be sure to put the paper bag over the hair, and use the ironing board. you can straighten the hair by bending over the board, laying hair down, pulling it taut with one hand, placing the paper (or tea towels, even) on top of the hair, and then ironing it out. It might help to blow dry the hair first, as blowdrying tends to relax curls a little. (its all about heat)
