Everybody hates those fruit flies or knats. I always use apple cidar vinager. Put some in a bowl with a drop of dawn dishsoap and place it where the flies are. They love it and it also helps with bad odors.

For indoor flys don't use a fly swatter. Instead get an empty spray bottle. Fill almost full of water. Add about a cap or two full of dish liquid soap enough to turn water yellow. Shake. Now spray flys and they will die. You can even spray them in the air. Spray and kill any type of insect like roaches etc.

To kill 1000's of flys cheaply and quickly out by the garbage, take a standard pickle or mason glass jar. 2/3 fill it with water, and chuck a piece of chicken in it. Poke a hole in the lid a little larger than a pencil. Nothing will happen until the meat rots. Then on hot days hundreds of flys a day will climb into the trap and be killed and or drowned.

To kill flys, bees, hornets and wasps, spray with Windex. On housefly's it usually only takes a small whiff to knock them out of the air and kill them. Wasps will fall right away too but you may need to hit them with another dose. Ants can be discouraged by spraying around doors and windows as well as on the ants themselves though I think there are other products that work better for them... it's not bad in a pinch. :)

Fill sandwich baggie half full of water, hang over any door which leads from outside to inside (hang bag over outside of door). The fly sees its reflection in the water & is scared off. Know it sounds crazy, but it works. Try it!!

My grandmothers remedy, its pretty simple, just put a penny in a plastic zip lock bag of water and hang it on the wall, outside or where ever the problem occurs, it seems to work out well for my family.
