Dry brushing the skin will help improve skin tone and circulation while ridding of dry dead skin cells. Start at your feet and move the brush in long, gentle strokes in an upward motion, always going towards the heart. Continue with the rest of your body. Then shower, dry, and apply hydration.

Hiya :]
Do this once a month for smooth/nice skin.
After a shower/bath, take vasiline, and when I say 'Take' I mean scoop a whole bunch in you're hands and apply everywhere a huge layer of it. You're skin will not turn greasy, but you have to keep it on for about an hour or so to soak in. Yeah, it might sound like a pain in the butt right now having to wait an hour for it to soak in, but you only have to do it once a month for beautiful skin... choice is yours, good luck!

My 1 yr old baby girl has suffered with excema and excessive dry skin since birth. She is a huge scratcher so her belly, back of neck, wrists, lower back, and chest are all very scratched up. Basically her entire body is prone to excema.
When I was a child it was my face mainly but she is everywhere. I want to cry when I look at her belly. :(
I have taken her to many doctors and am still looking for relief, but some things that help are
-keeping her nails short (lots of her redness is due to the welts from scratching)
-having a few different lotions (she responds best if we rotate which lotion we give her every few weeks or so)
-washing her clothes and bedding with Ivory Snow or a sensitive detergent.
-increasing her OMEGA 3. I met with a nutritionist who said that excessive dry skin can be due to a fatty acid deficiency. I just started this option, so I don't know how effective it is, but I have heard great reviews from others. Take 1tps-1tbsp for babies (more for adults) of ground flax seed. I add it to her morning cereal. You can also take OMEGA 3 supplements. This is a pretty simple addition to any diet and if you see changes, you might as well go for it.

Evening Primrose Oil works great for severely dry skin. Take 3-4 thousand milligrams a day, but you have to be consistent. It takes about 2 weeks to see the results, but it really works.

If my face gets dry, I just spread a layer of honey on it after I cleanse my face (make sure you put your hair up if it has a chance of getting in your face) and let it sit for about 30 minutes. After that, I rinse my face with warm/lukewarm water, then splash it with cold water and dab my face dry. It works like MAGIC for my skin, but everyone has different skin, so you may get different results.

Vaseline, Vaseline and more Vaseline (no off brands as they are not thick enough or melt into the skin like Vaseline does when it comes into contact with your body temperature). Use thickly @ night and thickly during the day, esp. before showering & shaving. Use baby oil (any brand) liberally following shower. You will be most comfortable even after feeling like a grease monkey.

I used many products in my time, but I discovered a couple of years ago that Curel 'Ultra Healing' lotion worked wonders on my hands and heels.
I tried many plain and fancy night creams on my face for wrinkles and dry skin, but I just started on day rubbing this specific Curel lotion on my face at night and I'm very pleased with the results.
It's not really cheap, but a little goes a long way and it doesn't seem to wash off either.

Vitamin E oil! You can get it at any CVS or whatever drug store you have nearby. Just look in the vitamin section, it should be in a small bottle and a tan-ish yellow-ish color.
Apply to the skin as much as necessary.

Save yourself alot of time, trouble and money and just start using glycerin soap. I started using it just by chance and my skin is beautiful and comfortable now, no more flakiness or itchiness. And no more using lotion! It also cured my acne and got rid of my oily facial skin but without overdrying it, it's perfectly balanced now. I don't even use facial lotion. And now my makeup stays beautiful all day long! No lotions, no toners, no remedies, no trouble, and no time or money lost. Great skin is as simple as using glycerin soap!

I have very dry skin especially in and after winter. I have tried every kind of lotion or cream that there is to buy. The best thing that I have found is Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Lotion. It is so good and it completely heals my dry skin. I use it after showing and just whenever I feel the need. It works on every part of the body that has dry skin. Try it...it couldn't hurt!

2 Tablespoons of Real mayonase, and 1 teaspoon of baby oil..
Mix and aplly to dry skin area.
Leave it on for 20 minutes, wash off with warm water, then pat dry.
You can tell a difference as soon as you dry your skin! I just did my hands to test it out, and I was so pleased, I'm doing my whole face right now. This is amazing!

To have well lubricated skin use almond oil daily. Apply lightly to skin and masage in till it dissappears. Your skin will be softer and dry skin will dissappear. Use lightly around eyes and gently massage before going to bed. Apply to rough elbows and knees daily. You will see the difference in 2 weeks.

Legs have very few oil glands and are subject to dryness and flaky skin. Hosiery can actually accelerate the condition acting like a cheese grater on the legs. Remember to slather your legs with cream before putting on hosiery!

Idk about all over your body..but, if you have a dry face, I can help you. Or, let me say, I can try. I was looking through this website for a remedy for blackheads and someone suggested TOOTHPASTE. I tried it and, well, it made my skin REALLY soft. It's been 10 minutes and it's still soft. Yes, it burns. Yes, your face may be red. But, once you rinse your face off and pat it dry with a towel, this will soon go away. Hope I helped. =]

As my doctor would always say, 'lotion lotion lotion!' I use Aveno lotion, and it will pretty much fix any dry skin you have anywhere. My elbows are always really dry and scabby, but now they are better thanks to aveno. Just apply after drying off after a shower.

The best cure for dry skin is an ancient exfoliation technique that has been used for centuries. It is a tree fiber mitten. It has been texturized in way that it rolls off anything on the surface and in the pores leaving your skin silky smooth and fresh! It is amazing how you can see everything rolling without even hurting your skin. It creates a dramatic difference right after first use. I love it! Search Ancient Exfoliation on youtube or google you'll find it.

Is your skin dry and/or oily? Well, the solution is the last thing you'd think of. Kitty litter. Yeah, sounds gross, but it's not. Kitty litter is made from a volcanic ash which has been cooled down basically. Spas use that clay in expensive facials, but you can get it for $5 at the most. Here's what to do:
Use new UNSCENTED kitty litter. Scented litter has dangerous chemicals that cab harm your face.
Get a small mixing bowl.
Take about 4 tablespoons of kitty litter and put it in the bowl. Mix it with 2 teaspoons of water or as much as you need to make it muddy or clay-like. Remember, this is going to be a mask. Add a little aloe if desired.
After mixed, apply the mask all over your face excluding the eye area.
Let it dry for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with warm water.
Your face should feel clean and silky. This mask can also help with cellulite and wrinkles, along with other numerous things.
Good luck(:

I have found something from the store that works for me. I use Olay body wash with moisture ribbons. I know there's no boiling tea or mashing fruit but it works. I apply lotion after I get out the shower but even when I forget, my skin isn't to dry. It is a bit pricey (about $6.75), but my bottle has lasted about a month. I would even add a little baby oil to whatever body wash you already use. I haven't tried that but it can't hurt anything. I hope it works for you!

Hi girls! I used to improvise too with natural products on this problem (my dry skin), but then, one of my friends' advice made me feel sorry for my ideas: I used some 'natural' plant oil and made my skin even drier. Then, I went to a dermathologist. She made me realise that there are products, made by world companies that are 100% natural and aren't that expensive, as we, or at least I, was told. I tried this natural gama, made in Romania:
www.aslaskin.com
You should try this too, I strongly recommend it.
Best regards,
Jess.
