so i have had acne since 6th grade and i am currently a senior in college. I have tried everything from pills to creams to the 3 step process (proactiv and acne free) aNd none have completely clear my acne however with proactiv my skin is more under control.For the past few years i have been trying home remedies to help with my dreadful acne and well over ten years of research and this is what i have now that works best. I must say tho bc i have very severe cystic acne i dont think my face will ever be 100 pimple, blackhead, cyst or whitehead free =(( anyways here is a routine the helps tonsss.

a.m.
Gentle cleanser/wash with scrub inside to remove dead skin cells
Astringent
acne treatment cream with 10% benzoyl peroxide
Oil controlling moisturizer

P.m.
Same wash with scrub
Astringent
treatment cream
Instead of moisturizing at night i use a clay mask for spot treatment and leave on overnight

Now this is the gooood stuff ;)

Mix tbsp of baking soda, a few dabs of tumeric powder, tsp of honey, tsp sea salt, and just enough water to make a paste.

rub unto face either as a whole mask or spot treatment. Leave on for 5-10 min. Gentle enough to use everyday.

I try to use this atleast 3 times a week and boy have I seen thr difference. Especially for those hugh zits tht just have to be popped. As soon as you pop it, clean the area then apply the paste. after you remove the paste with hot/warm water, mix one part water and one part lemon juice and put on cotton pad as astringent. The zit will virtually be gone! hope this helps=))

The only sure cure for my 20yrs with Cystic Acne was going 100% DAIRY FREE. See immediate results when you do. This means:

NO DAIRY MILK OF ANY KIND
NO YOUGURT
NO CHEESE

Sounds harsh and impossible but, you will be glad and happy you did.

Apparently, the oil glands in our body are similar to lactation/ milk producing glands and for some reason dairy milk causes an overproduction in our oil glands.
