I had tried everything suggested, by everybody it seemed hopeless that my 5 month old would ever poop. She was sooo constipated she screamed when she tried to have a bowl movement and nothing would come out. So last resort before we headed to the doctor, I put Vaseline on the end of a Q-Tip and put it in her rectum and swirled it around for a couple seconds and SHAZAM out came 4 days worth of poop. I think I was more relived than her, she just smiled:)

My daughter is 2 and has had horrible problems with constipation ever since she was a baby and taken off breast milk. Her pediatrician prescribed medication that worked but there was no middle ground. She was either constipated or 'blowing out the back'. Not to mention it tasted so bad it was a struggle to get her to take it. Since then we have switched to a new doctor and she recommended Mira-lax. It is not a quick fix but it got her system working like normal. She can only take 4 grams twice a day, but check with your doctor for a proper dose. It’s great because you mix it with milk or juice and she takes it right down.

Use a small amount of prune juice to baby's formula and shake well. Change baby as soon as he/she passes a stool. TIP: Use super gentle warm washclothes instead of alcohol based wipes which will sting the babies tender red, welpy rashes as they will bleed and cause baby and you excrutiating pain (both physically and emotionally). Save baby's and your own's sanity.

Apply a very warm cloth to baby's anus and gently stimulate the area by rubbing. This relaxes the muscles and allows gas and matter to escape, especially in breastfed babies.

wiggle a sliver of soap (Ivry) in the babys butt! Don't let it go it could disapear if you know what I mean. And watch out, the poo could come flying while you remove the soap. My dad did this with me and told me about it when I had my child. It works! instantly!

i always give apple juice. my baby can never poop when she is given milk and once she drinks apple juice, it softens up the poop. another thing that really work when she was under one i gave her karo syrup. one tablespoon of syrup and the rest of the bottle with water mix together, i promise you it works. trust me i would hate to see my baby suffer trying to poop

If your baby is constipated , give them a three ounce bottle with warm water and add a half of ounce of syrup.
This will loosen their bowls and make it easier to go.

Soak 1 spoon of Isoop Goal (Ayurvedic seeds of a Flower) in 1 cup of water and let it blow a bit and let liquid becomes slimy. Feed 1-2 spoon of Isoop Goal liquid in all the food that you give to your infant. This is a precautionary method for avioding constimation without any side effects. I have tried it on my 7 month old infant and it works perfect.
