1.Use the r.i.c.e. method. Rest,Ice,Compress and elevate. 2.Alternate ice and heat therapy. (Apply castor oil directly to affected joint then cover with a cloth before the heat treatments.)
3.eat pineapple, yellow mustard, milk/cheese, honey and green leafy vegetables like spinach to reduce swelling.
4. take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen to further reduce the swelling and pain.
5. wait up to two weeks.
6. if it is red, hot, speckled or extremely painful it may be infected.
