2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar and a tall glass of water at room temperature. It works wonders for me. Usually takes less than 5 minutes to take effect. Finally was able to get to sleep after I found this remedy!

1 level tsp. BAKING SODA mixed into a glass of lukewarm water, chug, burp a few times, and feel the relief. Ahhhhh! Chase with a cool glass of water if desired. Process may be repeated for severe cases. My great grandfather taught my grandma this, and she taught me. The other day I saw an episode of Food Detectives on the Food Network and they tried several known home remedies and over-the-counter remedies as well, and it so happens that BAKING SODA (an Alkaline) was shown to be the most effective. As we all learned in high school chemistry class, Acid is neutralized by Alkaline.

I did a candida detox diet for a week, the one off thecandidadiet.com, I am now mostly on raw foods (even raw tomato soup, I can handle it now for some reason) and symptoms have almost vanished, I feel like I can breathe and relax after meals instead of commencing a burping frenzy and crying from the acid.

I gave up on dairy and gluten (breads etc), and jasmine rice. There are types of rice that are irritant and others that aren't.

I still smoke, but have no problems with GERD 80% of the time. I can't begin to say how much giving up dairy has changed everything for the better.

You've heard this before but coffee intake matters too. I never have coffee after meals, in the morning seems to be fine, but only if I drink lots of water too.

So the best thing is to start from scratch, instead of eliminating bits and bobs, eliminate every damn processed food from your diet for a week, and then slowly introduce healthier options.

I have really bad Heart burn/Acid Reflux. I have erosions on my esphogus. I have tried this and it helps a great deal. Before each meal eat a piece of celery. Do not place anything on it but make sure it is cut in a slender piece and eat one before your meal and one after. It calms the acid in your stomach and helps you digest your food better. I have had this problem for 25 years and trying this has really been a blessing. God Bless.

My daughtered suffered from terrible acid reflux. We didn't want to just mask syptoms, we wanted to cure her so we contacted Dr. Micahel Colgan of the Colgan Institute in Canada. He put her on a very strict low acid diet of fruits, veggies, select lowfat dairy, some nuts and no red meats, no grains, no sugars, no high fat foods (I beleive he has a list of foods on his websight). He also put her on an amazing high acidophilus yogurt called BIO K+ which you can get at Whole Foods and other health food stores. Within 1 week her spymptoms were gone. She had to stay on this program for about 9 months but has since been completely (2 years now) cured and is back to a normal diet. IT ABSOLUTELY WORKED.

Apple cider vinegar is best for any form of indigestion (including neck indigestion, chest pain and indigestion, stomach, digestion, etc.) - better than(at least as good as) any medicine than you can take. Take about 2-3 teaspoons per 16 oz. of water and make sure that you mix it well and use straws(important - teeth). Also, note that it is an if all else fails type of solution, because of vinegar's effect as it directly touches your teeth. Try ketchup and mustard(I put up the original ketchup mustard post, too; forgot to sign it) first, as it works for nearly all stomach and chest indigestion. For acid reflux or neck indigestion, you may want to forgo the ketchup and mustard and use vinegar the water mixture above. If neither of these cocktails works, then you may have something serious and the problem may need iatrogenic care. That's how good these remedies are!

drink a small can of saurkraut juice! It works for me for a full 24 hours and heals erosin and ulcers.

I also get a small glass of water, sugar, mix baking soda, mix, white vinager, mix and drink while still fizzing. It works for a while and does not taste bad if you mix it right.

I also heard but not tried equal parts of cinnamon and honey in warm water is what they use in eastern countries.

But the suarkraut is the best nutralizer!!!! And it cools. I get so bad I bleed and it does not hurt.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), more commonly known as acid reflux, affects 19.8 percent of adults in the United States (roughly 47.3 million people). Those who suffer from the disease can attest to the sometimes crippling discomfort it causes. Although medications and surgical options are available, increasingly, medical professionals are touting the benefits of consuming a more alkaline diet in order to control acid reflux.

For both immediate and long-term survival, the body must maintain balance between acidity and alkalinity. In fact, the link between dietary pH balance and various health issues has been recognized by physicians since the early 20th century, although it is only recently creating buzz. This is because the modern diet is vastly different than it was 100 years ago due to the wide availability of protein. Since protein is now a significant component of most meals, the bulk of the current American diet consists primarily of foods that leave an acidic residue within the body. This occurs when food is metabolized and broken down, leaving certain chemical and metallic residues which yield either acid or alkaline potentials of pH for the body. Try drinking kangen water, or type in alkaline water everyday

Drink organic, whole leaf aloe very juice (dietary supplement - not the topical that you'd put on your skin) several times a day.

I have been on antacids for most of my adult life and the constant use of antacids was causing additional digestive issues (both prescription and over the counter). I started drinking 1/2 oz to a full oz several times a day (first thing in AM and before bed and if my stomach bothered me during the day). After a few days, I no longer needed the antacids. The aloe vera juice is calming and healing and it has other great benefits as well.

For acidic problems you must not drink caffeine or anything that has lots of sugar, my remedy is to boil some hot water, squeeze in a lemon stir and drink,do not add anything else,it may not be the best remedy but it works for me.

Hazelwood is an ancient remedy first used by aboriginal people. It has the medicinal property of neutralizing the body’s acidity. It relieves or prevents acid-related ailments such as ulcers, acid reflux, and heartburn.

Hazelwood is worn as a necklace, and in order to receive a therapeutic benefit, the hazelwood necklace must come in direct contact with the skin and be worn as much as possible, including overnight.

Acid reflux comes from lack of acid in your body. Taking a teaspoon of vinegar will give your body the acid that it needs to stop the pain. Or you can eat a pickle or pineapple. This should help you with your problem.

I was diagnosed with acid reflux. My throat was torn up and all that lovely stuff that comes with it. My doctor told me the best solution was to drink a can of slimfast a day.
Actually worked for me, healed my throat up, and I haven't had a case of acid reflux in about 4 months.
