im not promoting this, but smoking cannabis can relieve almost any pain known to man including a dreaded toothache that no amount of ibuprofen, clove oil or any other remedies can cure. When used in the right context and not abused, it can be extremely beneficial and medically effective.

Tried and does not work for me. Being a smoker, I found a cigarette to be a bit more soothing, but in both cases you are putting pressure on by the act of drawing in on a cigarette or otherwise. Likewise, not a good thing for a cold either--I only felt just as crappy in with even more of a 'fog'.
As said above, probably good for pain in other parts of the body, but because it is a 'head' drug, not good for those ailments that orginate in the head--sinus, cold, toothache, etc.

This works ok. It does relieve the pain for about 15 to 30 minutes, as long as you don't get cotton mouth that bad. If you do get bad cotton mouth, then forget about it. Out of recreational drugs to use for a toothache, I'm guessing heroin would do the job the best, it's a painkiller.

If you can get your hands on keef or hash, where the higher THC levels attribute more pain relief and tension release, you might have better results. I smoked a bowl of keef and for about 30 minutes felt absolutely no throbbing or pain. Just my experiences, hope it helps :)

Not that im disagreeing.. Cause we all love pot but Im stopping smoking while my tooth is abcessed.. not because i want too but I started thinking... Wouldnt all the resin and smoke be bad for the infection and possibly cause other problems? or make it worst.. I dont want to chance it.. i dont smoke cigerettes (and i dont recommend it, atleast while abcess) but good luck to all.. Im using a teabag at the moment, wish me luck ;) lol and same to you!

I disagree. Smoking weed helps alot of different kinds of pain, but when I smoke it, it actually makes my tooth pain worse. I don't know why, but it does. I had a hip hurting, and anytime I smoked, the pain almost completely away for a few hours, but I would not recommend for tooth pain.

The ganja is a beautiful gift from the heavens, it is food, fun, medicine for the mind, body and soul.

The FDA (and DuPont Corp, 1937) dont want this legalized.

I dont smoke cigs or drink alcohol, or do any other drugs. All these years I have partaken in this herbal remedy insted of the toxic prescription pain killers. They are proprietary, expensive, toxic chems and can leave you feeling worse.

Please, America, re-connect with friends, neighbors, and family on the back porch with a joint! There are reasons why the god(s) put it here, and reasons why so many states have legalized it!

After 4 ER visits, tooth sensitivity, diagnosed with TMJ, 5 mos of using Ibuprofen (800mg) & 4 xTylenol around the clock I hope I have something to add here. 1st DO NOT take Ibuprofen on an empty stomach! I read a post here saying its more effective. Long term it causes ulcers in your stomach & esauphogus & can burn a whole in your stomach to the point where you need surgery. Instead take it with food & a full glass of water. 2nd Tylenol used long term can harm your liver which I found out the hard way. Like many people here, I'm without insurance & have small kids at home. Try not to take EITHER longer than directed but I know thats easier said than done. After many months of extreme pain, mine came to a head - A large golf ball sized lump on my jaw / cheek line that extended into my neck. My baby girl accidentally bumped it & I tasted something awful. I sucked it out & spit it, brushed, flossed & gargled with peroxide. I also take Echanacea (natural antibiotic) & 1000 mg of vitamin C.

I disagree, I tried this when I first started fighting the pain from an abcessed tooth, and let me tell you, it doesnt help at all.

don't smoke it, smoke of any form causes the body to take longer to heal, apparently. Instead ingest it, look up 'cannabutter' for instance. definitely works and highly beneficial.
