Hello. There is one simple solution that works for almost everyone. You don’t have to go out of your way to get prescription or buy witchhazel. It’s so simple. Just DON'T TOUCH, and whatever you do, DON'T PICK!

I recommend you just make a resolution to yourself one weekend when you're not seeing anyone, and just don't touch or pick your face AT ALL. Put on a plastic costume mask if you. If you have an itch, use a tissue. Don't use any acne remedies. Cover your mirror and don't do anything to make you think about your face. You don't even have to wash your face! Your acne should be gone or dramatically improved in 24 hours if you just don't touch your face AT ALL. I know it sounds too simple, but it really works.

You see, acne is caused by oil, dead skin and bacteria. Without anyone of these you acne is gone.

You can't stop oil production. All these remedies that claim to eliminate oil generally end up backfiring. They dry your skin out, and then your body produces more oil to compensate. Trying to dry your skin will also contribute to scarring. If your face is really oily, dab (not rub) it gently with a tissue no more than a few times a day. Keep cool when possible and if you sweat, splash your face with water and then dab it dry with a wash cloth. That’s all you should do.

You also can’t eliminate dead skin. Skin cells die off at a certain rate, and you can’t really change it. Often people wash their faces and scrub them to get off the dead skin. Actually you will just inflame your face and make your skin raw, which will make your acne worse.

The one thing you can really control is bacteria. There are two main sources of bacteria- your fingers and especially your fingernails, and your blemishes. Inside your acne are bacteria. They feed on the dead skin and oil in your pores. They grow (reproduce) and your body sends white blood cells to fight them. This causes swelling, tenderness, and redness. Most of the bacteria comes from your fingers and is put on your face when you touch. There is also a huge concentration of bacteria under your fingernails, so when you pick you introduce huge amounts of bacteria. Have you noticed that when you pick you tend to break out around the area? Also, when you pick, even if you wash your face, you leave huge amount of bacteria on the surface of your face. It infects your pores again and this time goes into several, creating multiple blemishes.

Also, when you pick you: 1) draw blood to the area making it red and inflamed, 2) sometimes cause an allergic reaction to the acid on your fingers causing inflammation, 3) create a scab, which doesn’t allow your skin to breath or release dead skin, bacteria, and oil (and looks really bad, too). Rupture your pore and cause the bacteria and puss to surrounding areas under you skin, giving you those terrible giant, hard, painful lumps.

SO DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE!

PS You don't even have to get this one aproved by a docrtor! :-)

this reallly works!!! i did this for 1 day (and accidentaly left my make up on) and i woke up with clearer skin....but also change your pillowcase every other day....because the cloth collects oil. Also use mineral make-up it allows your skin to breath.....YAY (^-^)

I agree if you leave your face alone it will clear up. Dont touch it. At all. Dont rest your chin in your hand, dont smooth away wrinkles with your fingertips. Just leave your face alone. You dont break out from chocolate intake or all of the other old wives tales. Dont pick and let your skin heal all by itself.

I dont touch my face, and i dont have acne, its just the occasional little bump, but i have super oily skin naturally. So what is there to do about that?

Ashlee

I agree with you on a few things.

Exfoliating is important. Yes your skin sheds cells at a certain rate, but sometimes you need a little extra help, especially if the individual doesnt have a proper skin care routine. This not meaning go buy apricot scrub and attack your skin. Dermalogica sells a few different types of exfoliating products such as microfoliant which is really gentle and you can mix it with your cleanser appropriate for your skin. If you are a smoker/drinker your skin needs skin prep scrub which is a little more abrasive, but only using it 2/3 times a week. secondly, you need to moisturize! Most think putting a lotion on your skin may cause acne,breakouts...WRONG! You need to hydrate! lack of water in the skin can cause sebacous glands to work overtime to make up for lack of moisture.

Im not a big fan of drugstore products.Look on the back of the moisturizer and if it says mineral oil in the first few ingredients, its not going to penetrate.Mineral oil molecules are too large for the skin to absorb, therefore it will jus sit on the surface not doing much of anything.

I hear Oil of olay micro sculpting cream is amazing!!!! I have never been a fan of olay products..but this one is definatly awsome for boosting hydration in your skin!

Never squeeze, pick at.Like she said, it will possibly make it worse. If its large and hard and inflammed. I use warm tea bags..it works really well by soothing it and taking some oil from the pimple.THESE TYPES OF PIMPLES,NEVER SQUEEZE!!!!

YES!!! This really works. I always wondered why, contrary to everything I've read, my acne is actually BETTER when I wear makeup... even the kind supposedly CAUSES acne. Then it hit me-- when I wear makeup, I don't touch my face. I'm not tempted to apply more and more drying remedies throughout the day or pick. When I look in the mirror, I don't get that horrible 'Oh, my God, I'm so ugly, I better do something!!' feeling. So I leave my skin alone. You'll be amazed at the results. also, wash your hands regularly, even if you don't think your touching your face-- you are. Have you ever gotten mud or cookie-dough or something all over your hands? You realize then how much you touch your face! Every time you have an itch, rest your chin on your hand, etc. So even if you don't think you're touching your face, keep your hands clean. And DRINK!

Good. Those who read this might say it only works for mild acne, but it worked for me and I have VERY severe acne. Over a weekend (like this person says) it doesn't do much good for severe acne, but over the long run, this is all you need.

David

ill try it i really hope it works and does it work for big pimples to

For really oily skin - try oil removing sheets. They do WONDERS for my boyfriend.

DO NOT use these if you have dry skin and get acne. Drying out your natural oils will only make it worse. Use only for extreme oils. I made the mistake of THINKING I had oily skin, when in fact it was those stupid alcohol-based cleaners that were overdrying my skin and leading to more oil production.

Drink lots of water, never touch your face, and use the right product for your skin. I use clean and clear morning burst whenever I shower, and I've noticed a real difference than when i was using normal soap!

Jessica.

Acne isn't caused by dirt

I agree with you and Ashlee.
But exfoliating is important to remove the dead skin cells.
Refer to Ashlee's explanation for more. & Research the web.
