Well this isn't really a remedy but here goes..

Past few days or so I've had a terrible toothache, and this pain has been on-going for a long time, due to a cavity filling that popped out.

I woke up this morning and the I noticed the left side of my jaw/face was swollen! I think it's some kind of abscess, but I'm not sure. My insurance doesn't cover dental, so my husband has to pay for it out of his pocket. (I'm a stay at home Mom)

I've been gargling with luke warm water, salt water, taking ibuprofein, and brushing my teeth where it hurts and using mouthwash. Lately the brushing and mouthwash has really been helping. I had a panic attack earlier since I was in agony, and the pain subsided a little since I brushed.

I haven't gotten much sleep recently because of it.....any tips? I don't know when I'll get to see a dentist, (mother-in-law is looking for one)

Thanks for any and all help!

You have to get some antibotics from your dentist or even your doctor. Infections in the teeth can become very bad quickly, I know. Feel better and get some meds. Use heat to pull infection out and ice for inflamation.

tracy

try calling the hospitals they may have a dental school programs. I am self employed so no insurance and it cost me about $120 to get a tooth pulled and that is with the X ray

I have a horrible toothache going right now. I took some ground clove, added enough water to make a thick paste and made a pack to put in along side the tooth and gum that hurt. I slept pain-free for the night and have it in now.

To make the pack - I had an old thin silk blouse that I cut a little rectangle out of. I put the clove paste in it, folded it over, folded both ends over and taped it shut with duck tape (tape only one side). Put the untaped side against the tooth and gum. You can use any sort of thing material (cheese cloth, etc.) the clove just needs to be able to get through to the tooth.

Hope this helps
