If you have angular chelitis and it's getting worse, please try to get a prescription for fluconazole, an antifungal. I tried these 'home remedies', and nothing worked. Even pharmacists and a dentist were clueless. I am stunned at the myths and lack of knowledge about this condition. Mine was getting horrifically bad, and immediately started to turn around when I took the first pill. Recognize that you are not going to be able to keep your mouth dry OR bacteria-free for more than a few seconds. I was swallowing all the ointments around my mouth, which weren't helping and were making me nauseous. Home remedies are fine, but sometimes you need medical intervention.

I think this thing called Angular Cheilitis is a little like Schizophrenia in that it describes the symptoms, and not the cause of the disease. The cause can be one or more of many things and you have to cycle through all the cures to find the one that fits you.

The first thing I tried was fluconazole as prescribed by my doctor, but it did not work. What seems to be working is eating more green, leafy vegetables, getting at least 10 minutes of sun every day, and a combo of coconut oil and Neosporin applied to the corners of my mouth. I've had Angular Cheilitis off and on (mostly on) for a good 2 and a half years but it seems to be going away now.
